Need help with editor

Every time i go into editor and make a new map. I edit my rules and save in the scenerios file. I start the game and click on scenarios. I highlight my saved scenerio. When I click on it it makes me go through the through the choose age, temperature, land deal. I have to have one of the continets or pangea. It won't let me use the map i made in editor. Can someone help me.
