Hello!

I have some big problems in my ongoing game.
The problem is the englishmen..
I play with Persia and are doing fine, around 20 points behind the leader England in the Histrograph.

The problem is they have a really strong army.. and they will attack me.

They have moved large amounts of troops to my border and I know that I cant hold em back, and I will certainly loss some cities.

I have tried to make a more stabile peace with them without succes. Do you think there are any chance to make a peacy treaty after just some turns..?

My diplomatic realtions could be better, so i cant get any other civ to declare war on the f*cking English..

I would REALLY apprreciate some help, advices :goodjob:

I dont want to retire in 1465 AD...

Well, some people would trash the idea, but if you're doomed, you could run a money trainer and hurry produciton a lots of military units...or die.

You could also give them one of your cities and a whack-load of gold to try to make 'em happy, but that may not work. Dump gifts on 'em.

I have a tactic that could buy you some time...

I would take a couple of your strongest defensive units and try to place them in a mountaineous area on the other side of his territory. They amy divert some forces that way, giving you some time to build up your defenses.

Also try and garrison as many forces as you can along your border. If you can withstand the initial rush, you may fare much better.

One of the things you can do is to use workers to lure his troops out into the open. They can also be used as buffers since to take a worker prisoner, it uses up the unit's attack. The computer will generally fall for this, but of course you will need to be willing to sacrifice workers since the AI will now disband captured workers if it doesn't feel like it can get the workers back to his territory safely. Another thing you can do is to pull your troops back and let them take a couple of the border cities. This will thin out their attacking force as they garrison troops in those cities and gives you some time to build and regroup your troops. Of course there is no guarantee they won't just raze your cities. The best thing to do is of course always have a strong military to begin with so you won't have to put up with the computer bullying you.

The game has really made some interresting turns!

The englishmen had moved up with knights only. I counted them to 30.

I sacked them by blocking my borders so they were moving around to find open space into my territory.

In the meantime I was pumping Knights and Muskeeters.
By attacking them from garrisoned mountains i managed to wipe out say 12 of them. Then they crossed my borders and started pillaging, they didnt head for my nearest citites=) (to many garrisoned troops)
All my injured Knights were repaired in the closest citites (Sun Tzu art of war). Then i tried to attack them from my cities or from fortfied hills or mountains. Beacuse they were stacked together in large numbers, my knights remained in the fort after each attack (protected by muskeeters) :goodjob:

But the war isnt over.. I must sleep now.. Back to battlefield tomorrow! ;)
