need newbie advice

I just started playing civ3 conquests yesturday if there any good threads for complete newbies? i been playing civ 2 for years but civ 3 is very different and totally confuses me.
2 things relaly getting to me... how do i turn off the auto builder thing, when my city finishes building sometimes it asks me or sometimes it just builds what ever it feels like and i never told it to do that. also how do u open city screen without having to refortify your unit?

1 - Click on your preferences screen. You can turn off "always build" orders.
2 - Check the "Where To Find Great Advice" thread stickied at the top of this forum. It'll direct you to the war academy and other locations at CFC that are full of advice.

thx i did check that but its not like the civ2 war accedemy it just goes into full details and i dont really want to learn everything from a website just a few basics to get me started u know? i doubt they tell u how to open a city screen without having to fortify ur unit again or how to load a pre made map :/

To get to the city screen, just right click on the city. You will get a menu with that and other options listed.
