When you use Sipahi as in wars do you have any musket man with you as defens? Or do you attack with tons of them? and have no defens untis with you? since Sipahi always lose when they are attacked. hope i posted in the right forum :)

Depends, but typically, no. Their speed is one of their strengths, defenders slow them down. Also, moving them in stacks so that the stronger can defend the weaker helps allieviate casualties.

I usually have some slower defensive units "bringing up the rear" behind Sipahi, Cossacks, Cavalry, etc. Eventually they'll garrison captured cities, but if it's a long way back to one of my cities, I stack wounded attack units on them to heal.

It helps a lot if you make good use of the defensive bonuses of the different terrain types. If possible, I try to end the turn on a hills or forest tile.

And huge stacks tend to scare off the AI indeed.

Before rails the answer is no.
When rails become available, then yes I will have a bench of workers dedicated to the railroad and defense units around, I will also use some outdated units (such as warrior) to garrison captured cities.

The ai will tend to not go after a large stack of units so Cav is pretty safe in large stacks.

Early on, when the AI defends with Musketmen or Riflemen, Sipahi get the job done on their own magnificently. Later, when you're up against Inf fortified in metropolises, you're going to want to bring along Arty, which of course get Inf units assigned to them on guard duty. Then I tend to keep the Sipahi in the Inf/Arty stacks till it's time to leap out and kill someone.

Do the AI use Arty at higher levels when they attack a city? I only play on warlord so far top score is 1800 so i am still a newbie :)

I usually send in just Sipahi (or any 3 move unit) before RRoad. IMO movement is their major strength so stacking them with defensive slow units kind of defies their purpose. Try to end their turn in a town or on a hill/mountain as Shabba says.

Does the AI use arty? They do, but I've never ever seen em field 75+ stacks of arty like humans do. Not even more than 10 as far as I can remember.

The most artillery I've ever senn an AI have is 20. They dont even use those effectievly. They just leave them in their cities.

Play on Deity a couple of times, and I've not seen yet an AI using Arty to attack a city. They generally keep the arty inside city and do not build a lot and do not upgrade their old catapult, so you will very often see a catapult defending an AI city even late in the game.

I only use musketmans to protect my border at the beginning of the war and let the AIs to launch their best shot at me first. Then I use my Sipahi to attack and withdraw immeditately into my cities to heal within the same turn (since it's within my territory) and repeat this tactic until I generate a few great leader which I use to build armies of pure Sipahis. Once I have at least 1 armies of Sipahis, I will be on an offensive and use my armies to defend my Sipahi stack. Basically, all my attack force are Sipahis and use the armies as the defenders. Since I have absolutely no other types of units in my attack force to slow down my Sipahis, I can strike at the heart of the AIs and won the war very quickly. Hint: AIs usually do not dare to attack your armies at full health; therefore, do not damage your armies and they will never challenge your stack.
