Negative income due to ransacking?????

I had over 20 barbarians ransacking a town. They kept destroying the work on Spearman, but several stole money. The first one brought me to zero in the treasury, then 4 more took 1 Gold each. This resulted in the destruction of a Granary in a different town since my tax rate was balanced, but now I was at -4 Gold.

Is it normal???????

you are in debt to barbarian, they charge 10 % interest if you dont pay your due. Seriously it never happen to me.

I did not get into negatives, but that happened to me too. A whole stack attacked, killed the defenders and then each individual barbarian took turns pillaging the land, raping the chickens, and stealing my cash. I was reduced from about 10k in gold to just a little over 700 gold. Each barbarian got a cut. I was not a happy ruler.

I don't think so. I've been taken to zero and the the other 10 just destroyed my spearman production over and over again.

Maybe the damaged your city center and you had to pass a bond issue.

what annoys me is that I put science down to be on the safe side.
