Negotiation and Diplomacy

This thread is for discussing attitudes, possible alliances, and other pacts to be made with the other countries.

Preferably, when a team member is contacting another country, he presents his/her message in this thread so we can all weigh in. Is this an acceptable idea?

Two thoughts: I would prefer to communicate via email and "official team messages" as much as possible for primary interaction with other teams.

I know people love chatting, and might even prefer conducting diplomacy that way. But last game my team did had an Insane amount of IM chatting, and posting IM logs to the forums, and the simpler/traditional "diplomatic envoy"/sending messages seems to be a route I'd prefer. Not trying to say others couldn't do this if they wanted, but the other teams also didn't seem to respond well to some of us "asking to chat" all the time, maybe this one will be different but a tried and true simpler way also couldn't hurt.

Secondly, we should ally with the Amazons for luscious brides

But seriously - we'll probably open a diplomacy thread for each team eventually, so I guess that'd be 5 (unless Merlot has a civil war )- there will probably be a need for that. I'm more than happy to see what ideas we already have though, talk about how we represent ourselves and so on.
