Turn 0, 1060AD: Well, this could be over very soon. We are in 2 wars now, with a very small army, half of which is tied up in Egypt - classical case of overstretching. Iro's are attacking with knights, and our home defense consists of 1 army, 2 horse, 1 sword. WW is sky high, need to crank lux tax up to 50% to fire the clowns. There are German troops in Egypt - what are they doing there? We're hopelessly behind in tech.
Army kills redlined knight. Incredibly risky, because London could fall easily now, but I have to gamble it.
IT: redlined knight kills himself against defending London horse. Another knight impales on our mountain sword, then a longbow kills him. A musket drives our horse off the mountain. Sword at Cattaraugus retreats a knight. Iro's move a few more troops into Cattaraugus and land a longbow behind the lines in our undefended backyard. York market -> sword.
Turn 1, 1070AD: No way I can get that musket off the mountain. Kill the backyard longbow. Bombardment reveals that Cattaraugus is defended by at least 2 vet and 2 reg muskets. I have also seen some knights, a pike and a sword enter the town. Our attack force consists of 7 swords, 2 are damaged. Really. I'll turn back to the homeland next turn, if there is a next turn. Advancing on the last Egyptian city with 5 swords.
IT: Lose a sword at Cattaraugus to a knight. Iro now have 2 muskets and 1 sword in our lands.
Newcastle harbor -> rax. Harbor's nice, but we cannot ship across the water yet. London sword -> sword. Oxford sword -> sword.
Turn 2, 1080AD: Battle for Elephantine, we have more hope than troops: first 3 swords lose vs spear without making a dent, 4th wins and becomes elite, 5th (elite) redlines the reg spear and then loses - always happens to me. There is at least one more spear, and we ran out of attackers

.
Don't know what to do. I cannot press the attack on Egypt with Iro's breathing down my neck, but we have several Egypt cities that will flip back soon. Yuk. Can try another attack in 5 turns or so, we'll see.
Retreat Cattaraugus stack.
IT: Our cattaraugus stack loses 5 swords, retreats 1 knight and kills 1 longbow. Our catapults are now defended by 1 redlined sword who fortunately doesn't get attacked - lucky there.
learn Engineering, set to Invention. Warwick rax -> sword. Hastings sword -> pike.
Turn 3, 1090AD: Sell Eng to America for Theo for 37 gold. Russia has Edu, and wants Eng + 25 gpt + 2 gold for it. Though this is a lot of money, it is less than half the current beaker price, so I do it. Americans are too poor to pay for Edu, will wait a few turns to see if it improves.
I now discover that WW has gone up a notch. lux tax has to go to 60% and I have to hire clowns. Some of our cities are starving and our economy takes a nosedive. We need peace with Iro fast.
IT: retreat Iro knight at London. They march a small army along our east coast, and land a sword-pike pair on the west coast.
York sword -> sword, Nottingham market -> pike, Canterbury sword -> sword.
Turn 4, 1100AD: kill the pike, lose a sword, kill a sword. There's a stack of three knights, 2 swords, 1 longbow and 1 musket on our east coast. Then some spread out muskets. We have half a dozen swords. If Iro don't talk next turn, we'll lose cities.
IT: The inevitable happens. The sword defending London loses against a knight, and
Capital moves to Nottingham. Iro's also capture a bunch of slave workers and land some more troops.
Oxford sword -> sword. St Regis riots, unclear why - perhaps propaganda? Germans are building Newtons.
Turn 5, 1110AD: Iro's will not talk. They have a dozen knights or so in view. I am going to consider this a defeat. Here's the
save, in case anyone wants to continue. Nothing has been moved this turn.
