For a second I was wondering if we had some sort of mythological bigfoot creature in Texas that I was unaware of.Texas - Byraw Sasquatch
---
I snorted so hard it hurt.
That might be one of the best laughs I've had around here. That's prime quality.

Also Mexico hasn't treated its indigenous people any better than the US or Canada so shoehorning a Mexican leader onto an indigenous civilization seems...insensitive at best. Like making George Washington the leader of the Iroquois.
Even worse."Andrew Jackson leads the cherokee in civilization 7" - First Look (Joke)
At least Washington was respected by the Iroquois; Jackson was just hated by everyone.

Umph.Well he certainly led the Cherokee somewhere *Whistle*

I wouldn't count on voting then.I ain't voting on this poll unless it gets fixed. Paul Kagame is still alive! And who is asking for Idi Amin and Mugabe to be in Civ!??? Firaxis wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole!
Byraw Sasquatch? Lols.
Negro Abraham is not making it into Civ, sorry. Not with that name.

In order to avoid controversia I will just answer what I have something new to say.I see. In any case, Garibaldi should not be the leader here, as he was not the political leader of this entity, but only made an intervention, and should not be misappropriated from the far more dominant historical role that even he, himself, would say dominated the cause of his life - the Italian Reunification.
Can I argue Mexican are native americans, at least most of them are more Indigenous than europeans. Also Mexico hasn't treated its indigenous people any better than the US or Canada so shoehorning a Mexican leader onto an indigenous civilization seems...insensitive at best. I can`t change, just if I made a new threat.I ain't voting on this poll unless it gets fixed. Paul Kagame is still alive! And who is asking for Idi Amin and Mugabe to be in Civ!??? Firaxis wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole!

If you really want a civ with a gaucho heritage why not Argentina or just Uruguay?A movie about Brazilian`s Texas, the Rio Grande do Sul republic (Who was a free state as Uruguay) The Silver Mesopothami States of Gaucho heritage.
One of our great leaders was Guiseppe Garibaldi, but when he realize the defeat was inevitable, he move back to Italy and put his name in history once for all.
Uruguay should be great choice to Gaucho heritage because their leader José Artigas. If you really want a civ with a gaucho heritage why not Argentina or just Uruguay?

But Argentina isn't soo cool, First because they don't have good leaders. Evita Perón and San Martin never was leader of Argentina. Argentina can be cool to have more women leaders, but Uruguay would fit better Gaucho heritage.
Second, as a good brazilian, I don't like Argentina![]()
, in addition to their cultural influence and economic influence in the past.If Argentina become a Civ, for sure it should have Evita because will be more one woman. But is better when the leader really was a leader of nation.Well, Evita would not be the first civ leader who never really led her nation, see Gandhi.
Just kidding. But Brazil and Argentina rivality is older than soccer, it's trace back colonial ages when Portugal and Spain fight for the region.Because of soccer? Argentina is a historic rival to Brazil that goes well beyond soccer. This is one of the reasons why I'd choose Argentina over some modern nations already in the game, in addition to their cultural influence.
I realize that, the community like BIG empires with PEEK of nations.I think the point is that most people here are not interested in separatist states as playable civ, we already have this represented in the game with cities losing loyalty and becoming free cities.
I realize that, the community like BIG empires with PEEK of nations.
I like to play with weak civs who lose in world history.
Many more Mexicans may have indigenous ancestry than Americans do, but culturally Mexico is Spanish and has treated its indigenous population with the same policies of subjugation, removal, and cultural erasure as other colonial nations--and in some respects to a much greater extent, especially under early Spanish rule. I think you're glamorizing Mexico because of your mixed race fetish; of all the colonial powers in the New World, the Spanish were by far the most brutal, especially in Mexico. Can I argue Mexican are native americans, at least most of them are more Indigenous than europeans.

Despite US american who are way more WASP.
Not just Mexico, all coutries of America have a deep European roots in governement. I should argue there is no country full independente of European colonization, we are just partial free. From what I've read the elites in Mexico sought independence only after the constitution of Cadiz threatened their interests. In other words, Mexico's independence was triggered by the desire to maintain the structure of colonialism in its full extent.
And I'm not sure what's worse as a leader, the charming but ultimately ineffective Byraw Sasquatch, or the corrupt and oppressive Robert Mugabe.

TBH as an American I'd be about 60% okay with the US being led by the Marquis de Lafayette in Civ7.He's not YOUR leader. He is an Italian Revolutionary. He just led an expedition to give aid to like-minded revolutionaries in another country. That was an amazingly common endeavour of revolutionary leader throughout the 19th and 20th Centuries. *cough* Che Guevara *cough* But the cause of his life, as even he would have said, was the Italian Reunification.
Though what Henri is suggesting is more akin to Napoleon leading Texas or something.
I'm dead.the charming but ultimately ineffective Byraw Sasquatch
