Recently I have had a big problem with the ai shifting my workers around; not just any workers, 2 specific expert fishermen in two different, but close, cities keep getting moved from their fishing jobs to jobs in the city. I have tried everything I can think of, turning automation off, deemphasizing/emphasizing, nothing works. Put em back where they belong and leave the city, they get shifted around right away. One city has a good food surplus, the other break even food with the guy fishing, starvation without.

I am in 1665 right now, and this has only been going on for a few turns. No other problems with the game; in fact i have been impressed with how well it runs on my dated hardware. The save file is attached; the cities are Roanoke and New York. Haven't had this problem with any other cities or workers, just these two EF's.

Any ideas?

I don't see anything in your game to have caused this. Could there have been an enemy ship or privateer near your coast? That would have sent your fishermen scurrying inland.

You are certainly well prepared for independence.

OOps! Feeling really foolish here. The two fishermen are trying to fish the same square. I just realized that square is shared between the two cities. That explains it. You can't do that in Civ4 (to the best of my recollection you could in all previous versions) so I just assumed that wasn't it and didn't really look.

Probably be best to remove this thread.
