New Census Officer

I really think the two right persons volunteered for the job. Im happy i see the office will be in good hands.
So in a few hours we will see the result and cyc can announce the new officers to the public.
What you could do before:
If you know you work together, why dont you just brainstorm before the actual result is there how you two will organize yourselves? This will speed up the takeover after official announcement.

Hey, it seems that danke took a slight lead in the poll. I consider this decission as an approval for the co-working of both candidates in future though.
I propose to the domestic department that danke will be promoted to "head of census office" and zarn to "1st census officer".
I hope we get approval by the domestic department soon and that your new positions are officially confiremed so you can take over the work.

I would nevertheless maybe like to sometimes take a short visit in my former office though. Just to say hello and look how the work is going ;-)

Will the new census headquarter still be located in delphi? Or do you want to move it to elephantine (Danke's home) or heliopolis (Zarns home)?

Assuming that the Blue Mountain Railway doesn't get de-constructed by the Park Service, I am happy to commute the short distance over the ridge to Delphi while keeping my home in Elephantine.

Assuming Zarn keeps his home in Heliopolis, this seems like a pretty good solution. Besides, we'll likely be spending a lot of time in the field visiting provincial archives anyway.

This would be perfect. I would come over by foot every other day to look after your office if you like ;-)
I also will request a small RR-path from delphi to heliopolis as an exception to the rule (in fact i already did). I will see tonite if it had been done last turnchat.
This will reduce Zarns way to work.
I already changed my census entry to "former....". I will also ask DOM if mass-moves of posts in one thread to another are possible. If yes, you could open your own registry thread, if no i will update the census-office links to your own office-thread after your request.

Thanks Zarn, congrats to you too. A nice close contest, which is they way they should be. I PM'ed you on getting the dept. organized.

I did a cursory check on the Census HQ offices. For some reason there seem to be stacks of aging graph paper and bags of cheez doodles all over the place.....
