Hi!

As most of us here in the customization forum create our maps and mods, I am sure that it would be of great use for all of us to share our research on civilizations, units and so on. Why don't we use this thread to post the CIV infos that we have researched. I consider the following data as relevant:

For civs:

- Leader name
- City names
- Hero names
- Civ abilities (please give reasons)
- Civilopaedia entry

For units:

- Name
- Animation or link to animation
- ADM
- Civilopaedia entry

Of course you don't need to give all the information if you don't have it.

Oh, and please don't just include civs that are in Civ2, because we all can get the city names out of the text files... :crazyeye:

All right, I've done quite some research on the Troians (or Trojans or however you like to spell it).

Most of the information provided comes from the Illiad, the Odyssey and other Greek sagas.

Leader:
King Priamos

Cities:
Troy (or Illion), Dardania, Mysia, Kolonae, Lykia, Tenedos, Lesbos, Pedasos, Lyrnessos, Thebe, Chryse, Pergamos, Paeonia, Pontus, Ismaros, Themiskyra, Pherae, Kyzikos, Kios, Prusias, Kolchis.
Of course you can also take the names of people, countries or regions that were allied with Troy as names, too. I'll post them later.

Heroes:
Hector, Aeneas, Sarpedon, Polydamas, Agenor, Glaukos, Penthesileia, Memnon

Abilities:
Hard to say. Their history is so far back that you can't say whether they were scientific or not, because back then nobody was...

Units:
Definitely the War Chariot. The Troians were great riders on chariots and they fought mostly off chariots (the Greeks did too).
They were also supported by the Amazons (so the saga says), thus you could inlcude Amazon warriors. I found them somewhere, but forgot where. I'll post the link when I find it.

All right, hope that helps anyone who wants to include them! :egypt:

The new Civ III expansion pack, available soon boasts of six new civilizations, so you can literaly "Play the world", with fully animated leader heads, Unique units and etc... I am betting that spain is going to be one of those new civs, as will the mongols. If the carthagians and vikings are not present then I will eat my hat.
I should imagine there will be another native american tribe, (I hope its a meso-american civilization like the Mayas, but I should imagine it will be the Soux again) and maybe a modern civ like the americans, perhaps the south americans, or maybe one of the smaller old world nations like the hungarians, or polish.
If I had to put my money on any predictions it would be;

1The mongols
2The Spanish
3The Carthagians
4The Vikings
5The Soux Nation
6The Celts

Ok so not a very original choice, but it has been scientificly proven that original ideas don't sell products (see the box office takings for films such as "scary movie II" or the remake of "the planet of the apes". the only productions in any medium that are actualy making money are sequels and remakes).

I think there's plenty of civs as is. What they need to do is unfutz the F4 display so I can see all the civs at once, and their relations to each other and to me with only a couple or three screens. Is a simple chart too difficult for you Einsteins?

FUNCTIONALITY!!! Let's have some!

I am mostly impressed with this game... now if only they would finish writing it!

I hope they put in the Siamese!
