New Crusader Unit

You know, that's the second time I've read that, and repeating it doesn't make it true. Kettle hats were not especially common in Crusades at all - in fact, I have never seen a kettle hat in any imagery from the Crusades. Not to mention this doesn't really look much like a kettle hat - this looks like someone can't get rid of the hat from the Cavalry graphic.
To each their own, but until you replace the helmet, it's going to look like an anachronism.

I think it's okay for the designer to admit he can't figure out how to ditch the hat. Someone can likely help and give the unit a great helm, something more suited to the Crusades...

FIRST OFF THE UNIT IS NOT CAVALRY GRAPHIC , ITS MACEMAN AND IT HAD A REGULAR HELM. I CHANGED IT TO GIVE THE UNIT A NEW LOOK.
SECOND INSTEAD OF SITTING HERE LIKE A VULTURE WAITING FOR UNITS YOU LIKE TO BE CREATED TAKE THE TIME AND LEARN TO DO IT YOURSELF.
THIRD I USED THIS PICTURE FROM KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AND AS YOU CAN SEE THE MAN ON THE LEFT HAS THE HAT.

Kingdom of Heaven != imagery from the Crusades. Regardless, if you want to keep it, you ought to substantially shrink the brim, as I mentioned in my very first post. It doesn't look like a kettle hat, it looks like a sombrero.
If you can't take criticism, constructive and otherwise, you probably don't belong in a forum.
And as I said twice, nice unit, apparently that fell on deaf ears. Perhaps you're wearing one of those hats...

Venger back off your post was not constructive criticisms they were useless badgering. The first time is constructive after that you are just being a pain in the butt. CafeGio has worked hard to produce this unit for the community to enjoy, whether or not it is correctly labeled or historically accurate is irrelevant as while it might not be a good representation of a crusader someone else might be able to find use for it in another mod! I think I and many other people here would like to see you try to do better in producing top quality units, 3D modeling is a skill (one that I unfortunately dont have
) The simple fact is after a small but dedicated group of modelers here there are not many people producing new models for the community to share and if they begin to feel like they are be unappreciated they may quit and that would be a great loss for us all. So please THINK before you post! Just my 2 cents

P.S I am well aware that parts of this make absolutally no sense. That is what happens when you spend more time working and less time Civing! lol

Now it is of proper size and I even shrunk the sword alot but would not go any further as I think it gives him a good look. Modding units is tough and as Aranor said it takes a certain amount of skill to do which unfortunatley I am limited at. And to be honest with you one of the only reasons that I post my units and try to get better is to be fair to guys like Rabbit , SeZereth , Nautil , Woodelf , C.Roland who put a ton of time into their work and have really created 90% of the art work for us all to use. Without them there is no MOD work and I feel if some of us dont at least try to contribute why should they.
But thankyou for the compliment on the unit and dont worry as I get better their will be less to critisize.
Its not as easy as it looks. But once again I shrunk the rim and the sword as everyone requested. The reason he has that hat is because I am trying to create a differance between one unit to the next and it is hard because you could only edit a certain amount of the unit. So download it and let me know what you think now because I agreed the rim was way to big it just took a little time to figure out how to shrink it.

It's great the only problem is the head up, and the sword looks like it's carved out of rock. I was thinking of making a religion specific unit mod it would be great if you could make it more europian looking thanks.
