The new era is the atomic era and I know this not the best Opening post but oh well 5 hours left here. I wonder what would be in the atomic era thoughts?

Atomic-fuelled tooth-brushes, radioactive three-headed cows and, most importantly, this invention.

It was seen in the stream.

Off the top of my head it went Industrial -> Atomic -> Information -> Future.

Not entirely sure though, but eventually the stream will be watchable and we can get a proper screencap of it to confirm.

Or the game will come out and confirmations will happen.

If you watched the stream you have seen I think there was this is just a guess about 10-15 techs

Well, if this is true, then I wonder why the developers have not talked about including a 'karma' feature. :mischief:

Now that has pure awesome written all over it.

I kid you not, I want that rep system from Civ 2 back! We want karma!

My bad for a guess is future era is still there? or did the name change to info era cause if info not info era will be a second new era

I like that setup for the tech tree. It seems to divide more WW2 units from the earlier Industrial Era. there is the Atomic and info eras.

shortened eras. Every era is now 2 columns wide. Well at least this means Industrial is not as far back as I thought

I really like the new tech tree. It seems to branch out a bit more and Classical finally isn't just 1 pathetic column. Seems to me like there are 80 techs now, still lower than any other Civ sequel, but not in the red zone as was before. I approve :)

Classical is longer and there is a new era as well. I can argue that said era wasn't really needed, and it makes little sense to put an Atomic era right after the Modern one, what with all the hate atomic power has been getting lately, but it's still better than vanilla.

I still wished for an Enlightenment Era (or something around that time) instead of adding more post-Industrial eras which doesn't even get reached in a lot of games.

And here I hoped the new era would be Enlightenment between Renaissance and Industrial...:(

Many of the new techs are actually early ones. You probably get that idea from having another era, but the truth is, those are mostly techs from other eras grouped together. It's more about freshening up the tree really.

This is a valid argument however if that was the new era, then the chances of reaching the post-industrial world are even slimmer. Plus with the smaller eras, there is a decent chance you will reach it

I guessed the same thing. In any case I hope all units have their day in the sun. I don't mind the game lasting longer to accomplish this. That was one reason I was hoping for an expanded classical era. Technology took longer to develop the farther back you go in history.

They needed a new tech tree, some ages flew by, while others were slower. I found alot of times my units just being built and then I could upgrade them a few turns later and I haven't even used them or got them promotions. Sucked...
