new game (No Mods)

Taking it after Penwa. My apologies, but I had quite a bit of work (my bro COULD at least have told me I was up thu...)

that ok i just was not sure if you were still with us. if i had known i would never had taken your go, so i must appoogise there.
i just posted my save, you must have been typing this whilst i was uploading. it on the other page.

p.s feel free to do what eer the hell you feel like when your in office

2150, Pre-turn: Saw the situation. We are good at techs, but need lots more of land. Let's work into it
2110 (1): Building roads, nothing happens
2070 (2): ZzZz
2030 (3): MM at york to get settler and 3 pop at the same time (so that we can actually get the settler :P)
1990 (4): Barbarian pops up east to york. No problem.
1950 (5): York produces settler and starts worker. Nottingham founded.
1910 (6): Barbarian defeated, settler gets an excellent spot for new city, with tons of bonus around.
1870 (7): Further scouting south.
1830 (8): Hastings founded in a pretty good place: River, 5 BG, wines, and tobbaco :D. Warrior garrisons it.
1709 (9): Confirmed: We are on an island, with no horses :(.
1750 (10): Monarch Evincar I perishes :P. London will finish it granary soon, beware of unhappinnes problems once it hits pop 4!m I think we can either put a unit or link the wines there before it grows though, so it could be some serious workers/stuff factory.

No point in getting nuts about military until Map Making is available. Don't worry about the productions, they just begun and can be switched as needed. I say let's expand like crazy and improve our lands, then we will think about attacking a neighbour.
Maybe try to make a slingshot to Code of law--Philosophy--Republic?

I'm an idiot, here's the save

i cant agree with you more, we need more land. being on an island without horses, thats going to well, give us a bad weakness till we get tanks,(long way off). i prefer monarchy but i suspose its up to the person who discovers which ever one first.

1 question, wheres the save?

Am I up now?

Well, now that we know we're on an island w/out horses, I think Monarchy may be better. We're going to need to attack someone on another island, and for that, we will probably need a lot of units -- which Monarchy is great for.

And after London finishes its Granary, I think we should start a Curragh like I suggested earlier. Since we're on an island, they'll be the best way to explore (well, pretty much the only way until RoPs).

Pre-Turn – Turn Research to 90%. Writing in 9 turns, 1 gold per turn.

1725 (1) – Explore…

1700 (2) – Worker finishes road to Hastings, move to wines. Worker due at Nottingham next turn.

1675 (3) – Worker built at Nottingham, move him to wheat. Start another worker there. Granary due next turn at London.

1650 (4) – Granary done. Curragh started, will finish same turn London grows to size four, and I’ll then start a Settler. Workers road lots of spaces…

1625 (5) – Not much. Wines will be roaded next turn, so happiness in London won’t be a problem. Writing due in three.

IBT – Abe demands 22 gold from us. Normally, I would give it to him, however, since he has no way of reaching us (he doesn’t have galleys) I refuse, and he declares…

1600 (6) – Wines connected, start mine there. Curragh due next turn at London.

1575 (7) – Curragh finished, start settler, due in 5. Depending on where I place the new citizen, we could either get a Settler in 4, growth in 5, or vice versa. I choose Settler in 5, so that the Settler may be built in 4 turns. Writing due next turn, along with a Spearman in York.

1550 (8) – Writing in, start Code of Laws, due in 17. I want to try out this CoL – Philosophy – Republic slingshot soul warrior was talking about. Spearman built, start Granary in York. Workers finish road to Nottingham. Start mine there. We’re up Writing on India, and most likely America too. Although we don’t know how advanced the rest of the world is, we have a decent chance at getting Philosophy first, I’d say.

1525 (9) – Workers finish mine on Wines, move back towards first roaded square. After they mine here, I was thinking of sending them back to London to improve one or two tiles.
I decide to look at London just before clicking for the next turn, and find that by putting a citizen on the hill between the gems, instead of the unimproved square he was on, we get a Settler and growth in 2, instead of Settler in 3, growth in 2…

IBT – Americans are building the Pyramids…by all means, go ahead. Means you’ll have less troops to attack us with during our inevitable war. :viking:

1500 (10) – Workers start mine west of Hastings, Curragh explores further south. Settler and growth at London next turn, and Worker at Nottingham.
India will trade us Mathematics and 33 gold for Writing…I’ll leave it up to the next person to decide whether to take it.

And the Save:

good turns, IroPlisken.
glad were going for rep slinger.
do we want to start a prebuild for a wonder? maybe GLib? or better GLight?
i think we should but first we must calculate how many turns for it to complete VS our tech pace.
i think we have about 15 turns b4 we need to start, but as i am very far from civ today-tonight cant really tell.
lets keep london pumping settlers out, but keep it at a decent size (4+) if we need to, lets bring in some MP.

BTW - who's up next? i WONT be able to play till tuesday (RL + other SG's)

well, you should be next, soul warrior, but now I don't know who is up, since the turns got messed up last time - don't know which order we're keeping.

with the two luxuries, London shouldn't need any MP until at least size 6, from what I can remember.

As for a Wonder, I've always liked the Great Lighthouse. Our galleys could travel in the sea, which would help with exploration. The extra movement would be kind of wasted, since we're only a turn away from the other two islands close to us.
We could also wait, and aim for something later, like the Art of War. However, that only puts barracks in cities on the same continent, right?
Then there's either Statue of Zeus or Knight's Templar. You can never really go wrong with them. :)

how about evin takes a go then me- i think that will set right im not sure.

ps why are your graphics difrent from mine?

I've downloaded lots of graphics mods that just change the look of the game, without changing the rules. You can find them in the Creation and Custimization Forum, under Graphics Mods (or something like that).

that extra move will HELP us a lot. only these 2 islands are on top of us. it will also help slowing and isolating the AI. that way we can broker the techs till late MA.

right again :king: and we will only have what? 8-10 cities there? not good economics at all. i would go for the GLib-Glight first, later on start towards Suntzu but change for LEO's (those 1/2 priced upgrades.... yummy)

those are possibilities, but do we have Ivory? i dont remmeber...

oh about the play order... as i recall PENWA started this. let him manage the roster. how about penwa?

Good point. I just figured, that since we were Seafaring, an extra move would be overkill, but when you put it that way, I don't want the AI to have any advantage at sea.

I vote for the Great Lighthouse. We seem to be doing ok in techs, and keeping with the AI pretty well. I also agree with Leo, or Smith's Trading Post. I'm pretty sure that affacts our entire empire. If I'm wrong, then Leo, definitely...

those are possibilities, but do we have Ivory? i dont remmeber...

oh, yeah...forgot about the ivory...well, scratch SoZ from our possibilites. We can still do Knight's Templar, though.

smith's trading would be one of the next ups, right after leos, but probably we can squeeze a quick wonder inbetween as it is quite a long climb to economics.
so i think we are agreed on GLight > Leo's > ??? > smith's?

wait i've confused myself, its soulwarriors turn. but you cant play till tuesday, so i take save then you go after me yeah?

penwa....
the people have invested absolute power in you...
you're up
evincar... youre next in line.

seriously penwa... someone needs to organize the roster. (hint hint)

i suggest this order.
Penwa > Evincar > IroPilsken > SoulWarrior.
what say you oh senate?

Yes, I agree with that (it's only switching Penwa and Evincar, actually...).

Penwa, you go next, then Evincar plays after.

dont you go telling me the people have invested absolute power in me, since the election was rigged, i think its only fair that the blame be given to the other guy who was running for leader.

P.s dont eat yellow snow.

well that was a fun go in the old office.
first thing had to do was to bring in my old chair, and put my little flag made out of cow skin on my desk(the desk just being invented that year)

1500-nothing happened
1475- found the borders of India
1475-1325- grew old
1300-founded canterbury, dicovered france, had a nice chat with the french leader.

that was my boring turn in office now its time to get some people to take my chair back to my stone house. by the wayy i clicked on the end turn buton before i saved the game so its 1275 but i did not give any orders.
