I thought of this idea for civ3 if any firaxis peeps r out dere. tell me wat u think.

Alright, say you had two galleons traveling across the ocean , each with one swordsman in them. On England's turn, ay a Man-O-War came down and destroyed one of your frigates. In theory, the frigate that was killed might sink slowly and be unable of receiving orders this turn and fully sink next turn. But then, the healthy frigate could scoot over and have a chance to "rescue" the swordsman onboard the sinking ship. if you think about, thats possible in real life. just a simple thought, though.

Hmmmmm..... interesting idea. It would have to be fixed so that only the units that could realistically do that would be available for this or atleast have more of a chance. For example, a tank would have a very low chance of being rescued since once the boat has sunk, the tank goes right down with it. A swordsman though might be able to survive longer and swim while the tank just sinks. For this reason, the swordsman would have a higher chance of being rescued.

This made me think of something else... What if there was also some sort of salvaging ability that would make it possible to save those sinking boats. I guess it shouldn't be all that easy to do it though otherwise your navy would be kind of immortal. What would be cool about this though is that maybe once a ship begins to sink, it's no longer a "Roman" galley or whatever.... That means any civ can salvage and use it. Also since it's in really bad shape the ship should only have one hit point when returning.
