Okay, you know when you click on a link that opens a new window, right? So how do I make sure the new window is maximized when it appears? I hate it starting out as a tiny box then having to click it to maximize it. I know it's done that before, but I don't know what changed to make it the way it is now.

TIA

Why are people still bothering (i.e. tormenting themselves :mischief: ) with IE? Try Mozilla ;)

I've used Mozilla, and I don't like it. Avant is IE core with all the extras Firefox/Mozilla has, and no installation worries.

Some people are also forced to use IE at their work/school computers.

Well, good luck with tab-less browsing and active-x trojans :p ;)

Actually, Avant has tabbed browsing. And I've yet to get an active-x trojan.

As with most things, it's not what you use, but how you use it. ;)

I remember reading an article which said that any browser which is based on IE has all the same flaws. :p

'Tis true. But you can also turn off Active-X controls, and there are more security settings to help keep bad things away from your PC. Not only in IE, but in 3rd party software such as Spyware Blaster, AdAware, and Spybot Search and Destroy.

The tools are out there. It's up to you to get them and use them correctly to protect yourself.

Just started using this computer and won't bother changing browsers until I install all that I'll need, which should happen in the next month or so, updating programs, transferring files from an old computer, etc.

This might work. But I use Avant, and when a new tabbed window is opened, it's always maximized.
Thanks. I figured it was some insanely simple thing that slipped my mind.

*sets topic on fire*

Firefox sucks because I have to download tons of extensions. Plus I just had to move accounts (the Owner account somehow corrupted, so I'm on a secondary account). Opera did just fine (I retained all of my bookmarks and settings). But I just found out that I lost all of my extensions and bookmarks for FF. I'm going to check out the Mozilla forums to see if they can solve my problem; if they can't, I'm chucking Firefox out of the window.
