Today another interesting indie game has been released (into early release): "Yield! Fall Of Rome".
As many games in this forum, also this is a turn-based 4X game set on a hex field.
It covers a time era which is not that common in 4X games, but still very interesting: The time after the fall of Rome.
In this game you play one out of 8 factions (like Persians or Franks) who are invading (or befriending) the Roman Empire after the year 0 AD.
You start with a single settler, and need to research technologies to build up a might army. You win by fulfilling different conditions, like having the most cities, comparable to the game Ozymandias.
Yield! is in general a rather fast paced game which can be won in less than 20 turns, but will for sure evoke the "1 more turn" feeling. It also has a particularly interesting art style, which is very well worth looking at.

If you want to buy this early release, Yield! Fall Of Rome is currently available for 17.99 instead of 19.99 on Steam here.

It's not a historical period I'm particularly interested in, but if the mechanics seem fun and interesting I might probably buy it
