I have three possible bugs to report. I've been playing off-and-on for a while, but this is the first time I'm getting around to reporting some of them.

1) When I click the "No Storms" option in the BUG menu, it works in that no new storms show up on the map after that turn. However, I turned off 'storms' on the very first turn, but about 40 turns later as I was exploring the map I see a storm that never went away. This has been my experience in previous games -- "No Storms" keeps new storms from spawning, but doesn't seem to have an affect on existing storms, other than freezing them in place.

2) I've previously reported this bug -- when you settle a city on a tile with the 'caves' feature, the caves disappear. Can you confirm if you saw this earlier report, and if it's been fixed.

3) In my most recent game, I got a "dormant volcano unexpectedly explodes" event, which caused the surrounding tiles to get a boost in productivity. The issue was, the 'boost in productivity' notification popped up about 10 times, so by the end of it, the 8 surrounding tiles were producing about 50 food apiece. What was the intended bonus? Also, was the effect intended to be permanent, or does the 'new and improved soil' wear off over time?

4) (Not sure if it counts, since I'm pretty sure I know the issue). When I play the game, it tends to crash to desktop if I play for too long (any more than about an hour) or if I load a game too often. I occasionally get notices of "Bad Memory Allocation," so I'm pretty sure the game is just too hefty for my system, but the other half of the time it just goes straight to desktop, so I'm not sure if those instances are due to the same cause.

1) when I select No Storms all storms go.

2) I think they stay now but don't show up as being in the vicinity of the city. The latter may have been fixed recently.

3) is fixed, one field/tag in the XML was wrong and it took us ages to identify it.

4) This happens with normal BtS as well. Every now and then you need to get out altogether to free up the memory leaks in the engine.

Having said that C2C is big, very big and so if you want to get to the end of a game you should choose smaller maps with fewer AI and some of the less costly options. IE keep maps at huge or lower is size with less than ?? (I've forgotten the number help anyone), No Revolutions, Barbarian World off, Raging Barbarians off are a few.

Geez you're fast. :goodjob: Did you see my other question for #3 -- what was the original intended effect, and how long was the bonus supposed to last (permanent or turn-limit)?

Other than that, thanks for clarifying the rest. Do you have a schedule for when the next non-SVN update will be released? I tend to avoid SVNs, so let me know when the full version is ready.

Sorry, I am a bit distracted at the moment, Mum is in hospital and I go in for day surgery tomorrow, then I am away from my modding computer for a couple of weeks.

The boost to :food: is supposed to remain while the volcano is active and maybe dormant as well. It goes when the volcano goes extinct.

There is no schedule for the next release at the moment. I need to do quite a lot of work on the subdued animals and their buildings before we can do a release. Plus some new(ish) modders have come up with some interesting ideas. Some of which may be included. We also need a two week intensive test period before the release for everyone to find all those minor and not so minor problems that need fixing.

FWIW I have the same issue (selecting No Storms doesn't remove the existing ones, though it seems like it prevents new ones from appearing).

It there two "No Storms", one in BUG and one in Custom Game? If so that may explain why I see no storms. It is also possible that the having selected it then in the next game you don't get any at all - which would explain my experience.

I'm selecting the one in the BUG menu (I don't think there's a custom game option for that, is there?).

If there is it is Hidden. One does not show up in the Game set Options list.

Also remember that Events trigger storms too. In earlier versions these Event triggered storms were much more frequent than what is the norm now.

Ori hasn't been around for ages to update the Events. And I'm sure that many need adjustments by now.

Yeah, when I open the game, "Meteorology" is one of the enabled options listed. I'm pretty sure this is what provides the storms (and presumably also the tornados and other future weather events). However, when I try to start a 'Custom Game', 'Meteorology' is not one of the ones list that I can select or deselect. It's like "Advanced Castles' or whatever, and comes default with the mod. Can that be changed?

I do have another bug (ish) to report. Occasionally when I click on units, it creates a notice in the log (not a pop-up, just listed like a normal event). I forget the precise wording (sorry...) but it was something related to audio/sound ID not available. I couldn't figure it out, since it didn't affect the game's performance at all.

Finally, this definitely isn't a bug, but still something I can't for the life of me figure out: how does Tourism work? I see a bunch of wonders that generate tourism points, but there's nothing I can find in the Civilopedia that relates to it. I can't figure out 'Flammability' either, though I remember seeing something elsewhere on the forum indicating that a higher flammable rating would cause buildings in that city to be occasionally auto-destroyed. Can you clarify, or point me to where the explanation is?

All right, I have the specific error message here:

"Audio System: Could not set up 3D sample with handleID 4"

I've also seen a "handleID 3" message, but the one I wrote one had 4 on it. Don't know what it means, don't even know what it affected given that the game performed more or less normally, but there you go.

Any answer to my other questions?

Some of these are because the queue of sounds sent to the exe to be played exceeds the number that the exe allows. That can't be fixed as we have no access to the exe.

However, since the review of sounds something has gone very wrong. Even though the XML appears is correct the wrong sounds are being played. It needs a serious looking at.

That's probably the reason of the different experience:

This is more of a curiosity:
I was experimenting with different maps and noticed that graphical storms were generated (bug option on 'off') on the Planet Generator map and not on Terra or the Perfect World maps.
