New Player Guide Available

I just wanted to make a public announcement that the New Player Guide on the DemoGame Website is available. Any comments or suggestions for improvements are welcome.

Note: The last I checked, the link on the front page wasn't working, but you can choose "About" on the navigation bar on top of the page and then choose "New Player Guide".

It's just way too slow for me. I can't get the page to come up.

It won't come up for me anymore either.

If anyone does need any help with the concepts of the DG, just PM me with your questions, I'll be happy to answer them. (I've been doing it for awhile anyway)

For those having problems getting the webpage to show up, what browser type and version are you using, and what kind of connection?

Also it looks like JavaScript needs to be enabled for some functions. I only glanced at the source, don't know if it will be required for the entire page, or only for some menu type functions.

I have brought up the Demogame website many times. I have it bookmarked (if that term is still used ). I never have any problems bringing the page up or changing pages or navigating in any way. Something has seriously changed with that site.

OMG, I just tried it again for the first time since this afternoon and the page came up. It is still really slow (slower than normal) but I can navigate to different pages. It's just slow.

Try clearing your cache - maybe you'll see the same issues some of us are having.

I have cleared my cache and have no problems getting the site to come up in either Mozilla 1.6 or IE 6. Although, I think I can see what some of you say about slowness (I am on a cable modem, so it is still pretty quick to load for me.)

I will PM Fionn to make sure he knows there may be a problem.

hmm no issues here and im at school. The slowness could just be a server issue. I know the code isnt a problem. Yes Javascript is a key function for the menu here. if problems still arise with the website ill try to see if it can be fixed. Ill also see what other issues can be fixed plus ill fix the link that isnt working

I was trying the wrong link - on the main page, under the entry for the NPG is a link for more - that link doesn't appear to do anything.

However, if I use the menu - it's all good.

I hope that everyone can take a look and give some feedback. I would also like "newbies" (or anybody else) to send me questions they have that I did not address so I can add them to the guide.
