Nah..Like it has been said before in the past: keep OT the way it is.

I was wondering when such a thread would arise again (it's been about 1 month or so late). Well, at first I would have agreed to such a split, but now I like OT just the way it is.

I thought the last one was only one or two weeks ago when someone requested a movie forum. Or does that not count? :p

Thin out OT? Why? I like my OT pleasantly plump. Keep it as is.

How about a new policy: temporarily ban someone who proposes either splitting the OT or eliminating postcount within 4 months of the previous failed request.
I would support it, as I've said before, but it won't happen in the near future. Try again next year (not next week).

Ah... This brings back memories from when I once suggested this.. 18 months ago :D

Split the damn thing, already!!!

And I believe that XIII dug it up again about 6 months ago.
And after much debating it was decided to leave it for now.
This topic is another bone of contention.

Perhaps a new section could be made called "Recycling". It has all the popular subjects in it that keep popping up from time to time like this one and the "Post count?" threads. But my personal favourite that would have to be "A spearman killed my tank". It goes well with "The AI cheats".
Lets not forget the ever popular "Science Vs Christianity" threads too...
Was there any I missed?

"Why can't I 'search'?"
"What is YUMBO?"
"What's your favorite kind of music?"
"What's your favorite civ?"
"What's your least favorite civ?"
"What are the best traits?"
"What are the best C3C traits?"
"What's the best UU?"
"What's the worst UU?"
"Which UU tastes best on a sandwich?"

And on, and on, and on. . . .

For every poster, there's always a first-time. And esp for new posters, they might not be aware such threads had once been posted, or are being posted regularly. We shld gently remind these of the works, rather than smack down on them, for 'recycling' threads those old-hands of us are sick of. ;)

This, from a moderating POV.

Twice, even. :ack:

It could have gone thru the first time too; had I not asked TF to stop for the time being, for further consideration, at the very last minute. :p

If you guys want it, you'll have to lobby for it yourself, I am sick of my last efforts, when the debate thread in question began to turn into a performance evaluation of my moderating.

How about just bamming politics entirely from CFC?

I think that it's like spamming except with paddles... or is that called moderating.  ;)

Oh, you're a nasty piece of work, you are.

You could just abolish the OT altogether, but you know we'd all migrate elsewhere and cause hassles in Civ 3 General Discussion or something :)

Anyway, the OT isn't that active, you rarely lose track of a thread so IMO there is no need to split it up further than having the Sports and the Computer talk etc in a different fora.
