Hello,

First off, I realize that modding is no easy thing ot do. So I'm not going ot propose this as a MUST thing. However, I want ot suggest a new standard for all mods that is still running (updating/upgrading whatever) and new mods coming up. That standard? To have all of mods possible to be modded with Combined Arms Stack Attack.

Why?

Dale was right when he wrote that this game is stuck with 25 years old one-on-one fight! That is the most powerful reason possible to set CASA as a standard.

Now I realize that the mod, RevolutionDCM, have this feature. But I notice some modders claiming problems integrating that mod into their mods. But I wonder if they were to simply concentrate on CASA only and worry about the rest of it later on?

I'm only proposing here. There may be flaws to this. If so, please comment here why there are.

If you fix the bugs in Stack Attack, and write the AI algorithims to make the AI utilize it, and balance it (even Dale admits Stack Attack is unbalanced), then I'll consider it a useful feature. If those conditions were met, I'd agree with your premise, and would recomend it be enabled when playing WolfRevolution. Until that time, I will continue to reccomend that users of WolfRevolution leave Stack Attack off (though they are welcome to turn it on, it's easily done through the BUG interface in game).

Perhaps Firaxis will include Stack Attack in Civ5. It would make sense for them to do that.

Hmm...

Interesting. However, wouldn't a buggy concept be better than old vastly more unrealistic concept? Of course, that would lead into a discussion of a definition of realistic concept. If you were ot look at the CIV as a whole, I would argue that it is IMPOSSIBLE to play historically correct game but rather to play FROM historically correct concept and then go into completely alternate universe. If that is agreed, then I would be willing to tolerate no CASA in few mods that attract me in despite of having no CASA because of their impressive concepts.

Thanks for clearing up on that.

Yes! I would love that CASA concept being incorporated into Civ 5! Let's hope that the game developers will do that.

Hi os79, People agree that CASA > what we have.

The main problem being that the computer doesn't fully understand it and use it so it wont feel as fun to win.

Thanks!

I would NOT recommend using CASA as a standard. It started as an experiment and a challange which was expanded on. But as mentioned above, it would require a complete re-tooling of the AI to get the AI to fully appreciate and use the concept.

Thanks for posting here, Dale.

I really like that concept. Well, I understand and accept what you say. I liked the challenge while it lasted and hope for successful application in future Civ games/mods.

Again thank you for clarifying my obviously mistakenly cheerleading for the CASA.

:):goodjob:
