New Textures for some original Units.

Np Jeckel. ;)

I was just thinking that what I'll do tomorrow is make another type of Cyborg since woodelf seems to want more of them and well I think more than one type would be good for my mod as well. :)

I think I'll use the machine gun to make a machine gunner cyborg. Not sure how the texture and model is for that unit in combat, so I'll have to test out the unit in attack mode first to see if it is feasible. If not, perhaps I'll use a different unit.

However, it is late here so I think I'll just get some rest and tackle that tomorrow. ;)

It looks great... Like the details and differences between Iron/Bronze and Steel

Question does this work with the older 1.52 patch?

FYI - Riflemen from England wore Green - dark green (I think that's where the Riflemen were used extensively as a military unit/weapon first...Napoleon didnt like em because he thought they were too slow to load and a "women's weapon"... ok enough on history :crazyeye: )

Great stuff all in all!

LOL. I only made it red so that it would be a different colour than the green infantry I made. (I use those two units as snipers in my mod which includes TheLopez's Sniper mod.)

As for compatibility, these files are only .dds files. In other words. Art. There is no python code, or xml data so it can be used with any version. ;)

cool ...thx for the quick response...

maybe after alittle bit I'll try my hand at modding these .dds files so I can make em green :D

right now I just discovered how to mod (correctly) Wonders and buildings...

Now Im gonna try to work on a unique civilization ;)

First of all units look godly! Great stuff there mate.

Now I'll be starting with Civ4 and am looking around for some "retexturing/replacement" stuff like we had in Civ3 and I stumbled accross your units :) What I wonder is will my units come out randomly colored or depending on some other factors?

Thanks again for your time!

Thanks. :D

I'm uncertain what you mean by Randomly colored... but, let's say you wanted to replace the swordsman. To add one of my textures, you could add one of them. Let's say the Bronze Swordsman. This will make it look bronze in game. However, you won't get the iron and steel version.

If you want all 3 types you would have to make new units by editing the XML files for your game and adding in new entries for the different types. There should be tutorial around here somewhere.

However, if you do decide to add new units, I advise to do this in a mod, or in the custom assets folder. Don't mod the original game stuff or you could easily mess up and have to reinstall. ;)

Oh I see :) I thought you put all three in the folder and units came out randomly colored :P Excuse me for my ignorance. Keep up the good work!
