New Unit: F86 Sabre

"In fact, so massive was UN air strength that,
by fall, B-29`s of the American Strategic Air Command
were being used to chase individual North Korean
trucks down mountain roads"......

David J. Ritchie, Strategy and Tactics Magazine May 1987

Well for starters I think the MiG was a joint Russian and Korean maybe Japanese desinged fighter so that could explain part of the reason Russia (USSR if you prefer) helped the North Koreans. Sort of "We want to make sure they can use our advanced plances so let's help a little" relationship.
Or maybe it's the fact we didn't (and don't) really like Communists.
so Russia might have been "assitsing a fellow Communist."

actually..............

the mig was a russian devolment with the help of captured german scientists and information to produce a swept wing jet fighter.

if you read the history (i know i'm saaaaad) you will notice the mig-15 and the f-86 are very similar in capability and design, and both are based on the me-262 of the second world war. this is thanks to captured german tech. and scientists who were put to work for the victors after ww2.

the diff was in technology for the pilot: mig designed for mass production, f for quality, so mig more crude and missing things like pressurised cabin, heater good air supply for the pilot.........
