New Unit German AV7

Thanks, but I have already downloaded that file, and don't see any AV7 in there...(?)

Pesoloco, I believe... As for the modern Russian units... I haven't really thought about what to do once I finish up my current projects... so if I see something I like I'll probably try it :)

yep. the blimp was my unit. feel free to download it.
see link in my signature. happy civing. :)

Do you mean the background pink turns orange? I don't really know what could be causing this... sounds like a palette issue and it's probably something I did wrong... I look into it.

Not only the background the whole image...anyway, don't worry to much about :)

Well I just tested my PCX file and moved it into the original Units PCX and nothing like that happened... don't know what the problem could be.

I've seen that problem before. Usually what it is caused by is, like you said before a pallette error. The very last color in the 256 color pallette is the transparency color. All the frames in the PCX file must have that color as their background. Be careful if the last few rows of color are filled with the pink color. Although they may look the same, they are still different pallette entries and will not appear as transparent. If the last color is not the pink color, the background may change to an unpredictable color, such as orange in this case.

The solution I give is to edit the color pallette. Make the last entry the default pink color. Another thing you may want to do is remove all entries in the pallette of the pink color except for that last entry.

good luck.

To Kinboat:

I never understood how this pallette thing works, but with my Units_32.pcx the following happens:

The Pallette of my Units_32.pcx is compatible with all other Units_32.pcx on this forum, but not with yours, Kinboat. If I try to paste one of the small Units_32.pxc submitted with you units, ALL the colors are changed (I use Photoshop). I just recently found out that Photoshop uses a totally different Pallette for your Units_32.pcx.

The result looks like this: (AV7_units_32.pcx pasted into Moons Units_32.pcx)

Maybe it just happens in Photoshop then... I seem to be the only one on the boards that doesn't use it :) I'm just using a cheap photo editing program and I don't get this problem...

Just an idea. This worked for me once. Convert the picture to 24-bit color. Paste it in. Then convert back to 256 colors.
The new colors in the pasted part will automatically be inserted into the 256 color pallette.

It is not just photo shop, it is any program that pastes with palette number and not nearest color.

To make it easer for others you can post PCXs that have already been pasted into a file with the right palette in a program that paste with nearest color, not the just renderd ones.

Yo Kinboat since smoking miror dosent make the pedialcons for his units could u make the pealcons for his new T55 russian cold war tank, thanks if u do man.

Well maybe you could ask him nicely and he'd start making them :) Since he's doing the models and such the best I could do is to take a screenshot of the unit in FLICster and shrink it... or use an actual photo of one... But I'm away from my desk for a week and can't do anything at the moment. Sorry.
