Actually, I was going to use the Pikachu one as a replacement for the current Pokemon Master graphics in my custom Playground Mod (Pokemon Master is a UU for the Char civilization, but uses Kinboat's Industrial Legion)....

My very first playthrough of Blue I chose Bulbasaur. And I beat the game with that guy. The I accidentally deleted my save file and got made, traded my starting charmander to a fat kid so he could get all 150 pokemans, and then played through the game with a Butterfree as my main. A freaking Butterfree.
