New units to be added to the game

Yeah, and not to mention those Vietnamese civilians who died or is permanently scarred with Agent orange too, who to this day, still remains untreated.

Anyway, quite an interesting option, but should cause atrocity with the other civs
 
Perhaps a small thing, but as it seems that my civs always either start off surrounded by a massive jungle or bordering one, a lumberjack unit would be great. It would be able to clear forests/jungles faster than a worker, as well as maybe starting colonies and building fortresses. Wouldn't want to give them too many abilities, as the faster clearing function would already make them very valuable in my book...

I personally would like to see more variety in ancient times. I think I already mentioned my idea for The Phoencian warship and The Phoencian civ to Rotpar. a calvary archer should be available after horseback riding and after chilvary you could upgrade it to a heavy calvary archer (even though calvary archers weren't considered very noble). Woad raiders could be a nice addition to the game with +1 movement compared to swordsman. How about scout calvary too with an extra movement compared to scouts and some extra attack.......... no who am I kidding that was an awful idea.
 
I don't know what you think of this, but I hate it when a get into a major naval conflict and I am just about to win then I have to run back to a city to re-arm.(I use nukes and such alot

). What if you had a Tender type ship. Also a typhoon class nuc.sub would be awsome. Helicopters landing on carriers? Missile cruisers(with new graphics, not some modified Ageis Cruiser)

I'm thinking of adding more units, like crossbowmen, Men at Arms, etc. I'm thinking of changing MANY stats of the units to allow more variety but try to maintain some balance and maybe fix the spearman kills tank problem. Right now the Swordsman has 3/2/1, a Pikeman has 1/3/1, a Knight is 4/2/2. I like the MaA unit idea but there isn't much room for more units right now based on stats, but if I changed the Pikeman to 1/4/1, a Knight to 4/3/2 then a MaA could be 3/3/1, for example. Any ideas on how to increase the stats and maintain the general balance?
 
mm...how about awacs unit? remove fog of war in like 8 block radius... is there even a setting we can change now of how far a unit can see? or just 2 and tahts it
 
How about a nuclear aircraft carrier? has 2 extra movement points and double the capacity. Requires uranium instead of oil but costs 3 times as much to build as a conventional carrier.
 
Well, if anyone wants to add any new civ, I dcan offer at least one unique unit for it!
Btw, I think that before you can build Armor unit, you should be able to build Primitive Tank, and for English, this can be a second unique unit: Mark V-5.

I finished my Navy Spreadsheet. It includes 42 naval units (instead 14 from Fraxis) from CANOE till FUTURE CRUISER and FUTURE CARRIER. Also, I put them on timeline and made picture for each of them.

Some ideas for some new units:
-Dreadnoughts or even Super-Dreadnoughts.
-A mile long aircraft carrier, like what the Americans were planning on building not to long ago.
-Kamikaze for the Japs, like primitive cruise missiles and can destroy ships.
-Longbowmen exclusively for the English, really the English were really the ownly ones who had the patient to encourage such units in the past.
-Crossbowmen, for everyone else, not as good at attacking as the Longbowmen.
-Peaceful resistors, for the French, not good at attacking, defending, doing anything. Only joking!
-M1 Subs, Subs with bombard but can't go out to sea, weak at defending, not fast and not high attack, Say 2.2.2 with bombard 4, disappear when AEGIS Cruisers comeout.

P.S M1 Subs did exist, it was a sub with a single cannon on top, but sank as soon as it got in rough seas and was slow due to big gun on top.
 
I miss being able to steal techs form other civs after conquering one of their cities. I'm glad that they trade for them now but sometimes they just won't give or I can't afford them. I would like to see some units that could steal techs, Intelligence Officers.
Ideas so far:
Name: Signal Corps
Req Adv: Printing Press
A/D/M: 0/1/2
Abilities: a) 10%-20% chance, cumulative, of being able to steal a tech on the turn that a city is captured. Able to steal Middle(10%) and Ancient Techs(20%). Assume resistors will have destroyed all damaging documents after the first turn.
b) double troop effectiveness at quellling resistors. Better communications to direct actions.

Upgrade1:
Name: Intelligence Officer
Req Adv: Espionage
Req Imp: Intelligence Agency
Abilities: Same as above but can steal Industrial techs as well. Double the chance of success for previous era tech.

Upgrade2:
Name: Electronic Intelligence (Elint) or Hacker
Req Adv: Miniturization
Abilities: Same as above but can steal Modern Techs as well.
 
Good job all the idea's are great bt if i had some time i will help draw up some new ideas 4 u pll and mybe contribute some senarios.... i haven't tested any of the mod packs.... bt i'm hoping to try it out.... anyway good jobs on the FLCster and the editors..:king:
 
I was thinkin of a unit like the spy but could kill garrisoned units in a city or put the population down by 1 or 2 points. It could also kill the governer, putting the city into disorder. But since it is like a spy u need to us the special mission to expose it.

also a suicide priest. it kills itself for a list of things to do to another player. like sacrificing itself to make the other player go into Anarchy. It could also kill itself to give u an advance or improvement.:suicide: But u can only get a limited # of these guys, say like 3 or 4.

I also like the idea of rocket infantry:rocket3: he he.... that would damage the enemy quite alot!

I like the idea for the hidden nationality land unit. Maybe it could be the German UU (Landsknechts?)

'Course, then we would know who to blame whent the buggers turn up and pillage all our mines :lol:
