New Version – 5.0-alpha.03

I weirdly got this one as well, then I went back deleted the cache and verified the game files which seemed to fix it again. For some reason I have to verify game files quite a lot in the last couple of years.
Did it just now, but the problem is still here.

Maybe I should wait for autoinstaller. @axatin Any ETA for that?

did file validation and was able to start a game without errors. so either fixed the problem, or I didn't get a random AI that I don't have DLC for (ie - Korea)

Not updating tile graphic to show that I built a plantation.... and has the tooltip icon telling me I should build one

Noticing only my first couple of cities have a city icon. All built since are blank tiles with a city name over it. I saw this in A2 as well I think.

Known issue, I think some of those have been patched but not all of them ?
Perhaps. I've played 4 or 5 games and I'm on the latest version. I've come across it quite a few times. Especially when it comes to religious buildings, or buildings with special features. But hey it's still Alpha, that's to be expected. Still having fun. Just need a few more trips to the Civopedia than normal.

It's known, it has something to do with how modpacks are made, they don't like empty strings.
This is because we now have code that automatically generates HELP tooltips, so we don't generally need the old text, so it has been wiped. But then this issue arises, so we need to sort that out.

I can imagine this will make the modpack people sad. Maybe is it possible to keep the old texts as fallback to be displayed when the the new autogenerated tooltip is nil?

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. Appreciate your hard work.

I think it is the opposite : The help text automatically get the generated text + the old text, and the old text is empty, so it return a nil after the generated text. That's how I understand it.

Would it be more beneficial for Authority AIs to go after other non authority?
As it is it feels they start a lot of stupid wars in 5.0.3 not unlikely vs other warmongers (including human authority player).

Just realised im not sure how is the logic here, authority gave them supply and therefore they have bigger army and therfore disrespect neighbours, or
adapting alone increase their aggression.. For sure they are making wars, if they dont have space to expand or their borders are close, so it might be also topographic related.

I've been getting a lot of CTDs extremely early on in the game, is that normal? No error messages or anything, and I just overwrote the 02 files with 03 to update if that's the problem.

I don't know yet when we'll have a beta release, depends on how long it'll take to fix the remaining bugs. But it should work with the modpack if everything's installed correctly. What are the contents of your DLC folder?

It's probably better to completely delete the 02 folder and re-download 03.
