I was kinda aiming for an actual scouting-promotion instead, like extra vision, extra movement or the ability to enter oceans.
Being able to enter oceans at one tech would overlap heavily with Polynesia's UA. As for movement or sight, I suppose that could work too. It just seems less interesting.

The exploration xp bonus makes more sense, and has the benefit of allowing you to choose what kind of bonuses the ships get. We'll go with that for the next release. Great idea, Llednar!

I like Lledar Twem's idea, too. :goodjob:

Also, Funak's idea of an ocean entering promotion actually sounds cool as higher level promotion (especially if coupled with damage if you end your turn on ocean), could be a fun way to get some exploration ability without taking Polynesia's specialness away (as they could sail the oceans with impunity and without the need for promotions).

I personally thought of it more as a UU sharing a ability with a UA, kinda how the aztec jaguar have the woodsman promotion that should be unique to the iroqoues or the Moroccan Berber cavalry have the desertwalking promotion that should be unique to the Arabs.
Not really stepping on any toes as they can't send scouts to collect ruins, explore landareas or send settlers to colonize.
Anyways there are other scoutingpromotions that could be added I guess.
 
Removed population scaling from 'yield from city conquest'
Um...how much did this do, exactly? I finally got around to actually capturing a city with the might finisher...and it got me 20 culture. Granted this was in classical (was playing on settler/quick to try stuff out), but even scaled by era that's a paltry amount of culture. If it's going to be that small there was no reason to move it at all. Much less from the opener all the way to the finisher.
