NEW World War II Europe Scenario

You can find a summary of the differences between FW, MGE and ToT here. Some of the additions to the macro language for events include the BribeUnit, CityDestroyed and CityProduction triggers, the BestowImprovement, EnableTechnology, ModifyReputation, TakeTechnology and Transport actions, the @AND and delay modifiers, and the binary flags for each tribe. The binary flags in particular are massive improvement over earlier versions.

Glad you got it working Equuleus. What do you think of it?
I have just started work on the new ToT version which should have a brand new tech tree (non linear!), loads of new events, impassable terrain, more units and generally much more challenging and exciting gameplay, I hope ;)

My favorite version of Civilization is MGE. It just looks and feels so nice. ToT has much more potential for a scenario maker, however there are some things that I like less than MGE. Number 1, by a country mile, is the fact that the selected unit does not flash as it did in MGE. This makes my brain hurt! Generally it is great though.

I own a copy of CivIII but have rarely played it. I like the sound of some of the fetures but I hate the look of it. For me it just don't feel like Civ! Also having no events makes it seem pretty dull as a scenario creation game!

Recently I brought a new PC (quite high spec) as my old one was on its last legs. I also got Rome Total War for a tenner. That 3D map does make sense as it relates directly to the movement of your armies which then fight it out on a seperate 3D screen. My ultimate Civ game would be a combination of the best features of MGE, ToT, CivIII and IV and the battle features of such games as the Total War series. Maybe it will be made one day but for now nothing beats ToT's do it yourself appeal. It is amazing that after all these years people are still playing it and coming up with new tricks and techniques!!!

Viva Civ in all its glorious forms:king:

I know this is an old scenario but I'm just getting around to playing this now and quite like it. I had one question though, I'm playing as Spain at about turn 100 and the Axis is not building any units, while the Soviets are making tons and advancing quickly. I go to see what's going on in the Axis cities and they're all building "Taxes." Was this done on purpose to make the scenario follow history? Otherwise, I imagine the Axis would just steamroll what's left of the Soviets due to having so many cities to build units.

Well, the scenario was meant to be played by the Allies, who are (at least historically speaking) race against the Russians to take Europe from the Nazis, so...

I honestly don't know why the Axis aren't making more units - maybe they're short on cash and need the money, maybe it's just a fluke on the AI's part. Maybe if you gave the Soviets the "Taxes" tech, or maybe took it away from the Axis?

I looked in the events file, and there were no unit creation events (save the atom bomb). I've forgotten the nuances to how the AI chooses what to build/make. Maybe McMonkey could help...
