I heard NZ version is delayed for the special NZ version that allows you to make clonetroopers when you research genetics.

my Civ 4 is sitting in a UPS depot in San Francisco 
Waiting until the 3rd (US time) so they can deliver it to my contact exactly on time like they said they would (but two days later than Amazon promised). Then I have to wait for my contact to ship it to me in Auckland.
All this to get the pre-order edition. It better be worth it. Especially since I saw it in EB on the weekend (not the preorder).

Do you think Helen might try to get CIV banned for not being PC enough? I mean guys, this game has nukes in it! Nuclear weapons! Oh my god and even worse a nuclear POWER PLANT! What's more, the African leader is portrayed as black and the Chinese leader as Asian. That is very insensitive and racially prejudiced.
If New Zealand was in CIV, who do you think the leader would be? Richard Seddon? What about the Maoris?

hahaha wouldn't the national party like civ 4 then considering they have a PC eradication spokesman in parliament right now. Though I must say, Helen being re-elected isn't that bad what so ever. Is ainwood a New Zealander ? (i'm new here ^^)

I was in DSE Dunedin today, and they didn't have it on the shelves. I wouldn't worry though - I bought it from EB. I can't install it yet though, as I have the final exam of 5 years at Varsity tomorrow, and I feel it would be most imprudent to start playing a game of Civ RIGHT NOW. Also, all hail Auntie Helen. May she rule forever and ever. And praise Dr. Cullen. He knows what's best!

It pisses me off that you can easily download the game illegally via BitTorrent, but you have to wait weeks to legally buy a game which has been already released in other countries - its not like they have to translate it before they send it to Australia or something

I think the biggest problem with that Tuesday the 2nd of November thing is not the time, but that it's actually Wednesday. How odd that no-one noticed that before.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, getting hold of Gameplanet has been a nightmare. I wasn't aware I was still pre-ordering the game till I got the email about it being delayed.
You're from Hamilton? I just moved from there earlier this year to Aucks. You ever find yourself naming your cities Hillcrest, Melville, Whitiora, etc?
