New Zealand delayed!

Hehe... I think someone's going to need to make a Civ IV New Zealand Map / Scenario at some point. A friend of mine made a pretty impressive one for Civ III, with leaders such as Helen Clark, Bull Allen, and "The Wizard". I believe you can get it... HERE! http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=49723

Hehe - I never even knew he came to this forum... though to be fair, I never even thought of looking online for Civ III content (just that the anticipation for Civ IV made me look!) Oh well... only 6 more hours and I'll have finished my final University exam, and I can finally let myself install Civ IV!

I got the email from Gameplanet, then went to EBGames in town and they agreed to match their price, so I got the best of both worlds :D They're pretty good like that, just make sure you get hold of the manager and not some drone.

And this, the country that gave us the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Made to wait... like common Frenchmen. It turns my stomach.

One of the Great Artists should be named Peter Jackson. His special building could be WETA Digital. :)

Yeah that's why I decided to forgo pre-ordering it. No real advantage besides maybe $20 off. Wasn't worth the inevitable hassle of it being delayed.

Gidday Guys,

Been hanging out here at CivFanatics for about 2 months now after hearing rumours of Civ 4 and then saw this NZ thread today so decided to finally join up.

And.... got home at lunch and the missus had bought me my copy of Civ 4 from Noel Leemings this morning as a surprise. I think me talking about it solidly for the last week was a subtle hint....

Must be why you're with her ;)

Welcome to CFC, BTW (and same to the other who've joined-up). :wavey:

Bless her, however I'm sure she has ulterior motives. You get nothing for free after all...

However (comma, pause for effect) it seems my system is lacking a bit of RAM to handle the game. Game opens ok, goes thru the pretty opening video and game settings and then dies horribly when I go to launch a game. Whole machine crashes and needs some reset action. More RAM on the way though so should be sweet as tomorrow.

I'm from NZ aswell, but living in Singapore at the moment.

Circus: if you're still having a problem, try lowering the graphics settings and change the unit settings to show 1 unit not multiple. You can find these settings under the advanced tab.

Well, as I explained in another (sadly neglected) thread, GPStore is slack as hell, and we've been delayed again till Wednesday; despite it being in the shops for a week already. Damn it. So I cancelled my order.

Stink, I presume you've bought a copy from elsewhere by now? EB was giving away the 'official soundtrack' with a purchase of the game but it bites. The wife got mine from Noel Leemings for $80 and EB gave me a free copy of the soundtrack anyway when I went in to check the price yesterday, the chumps.

Got it working, and then it died again. Have a Radeon card and had to do that art unpack thing and it fired up sweet as and played it for about an hour. Then died when I tried to load or launch a new game the next day. Grrrr....!
