O.K. guys do'nt forget who started this gig.
Just kidding, hopefully some people will get together on-line through this thread.
Anyway
@Gary: Do'nt worry it will work out. The only time you need your own IP address is if YOU are the host computer. Otherwise whoever is hosting the game will just let you know what it is.
Then select : JOIN A GAME
The computer will then ask you to input the IP# you were given.(my computer gives me the IP automatically when I go through the steps of starting a game.) Once the IP# is inserted it will begin and you will be asked if you want to join the game,at this time the host has to let you enter,if you are accepted you will automatically start with the select gender screen and so on....fill in the blanks and.....
This should be all you need to do.
Of course if you are the host and still cant find your IP, then Duke has got the best info to help you.
The TOT game while on-line is a little slow, but on my computer everything is slow. If you are not on-line and it is still slow, there is a couple of things you can do to speed it up.
First: Turn off the animation for the terrain , thats what makes mine run really slow.( if you already did this and it still is not fast...then I do'nt know).
Second: Do the same for the units.
No matter what I do'nt think it will ever be as fast as O.G. civII though..
As for the graphics not being that good... compared to civII they are alot better. It took me a while to get used to it as well.
I only like TOT because it has an on-line feature bulit in, which is something I did'nt even know when I bought it. Had I known MGE was better (still not sure if it is, but it costs more) I would have probably bought it instead.
Anyhoo, We have started a game it is in the year 1400b.c. I believe up to this point. So when it gets finished perhaps we will do it again this time with more players, there could be room for one more player, the game picks up again Sat. the 27th at 10a.m. PST. The I.P. is secret and there are a few ground rules, the biggest rule is no cheat mode, period, with no exceptions. No bribes is another big one. That is really the only rules we have so far(since we have'nt had time to develope ground rules yet).
So if you have Yahoo IM it would be a plus (if not we can use the civ IM but it kinda sux).
Anyone who is interested post here and I will see it.
