It gets destroyed like aircraft and ships, I assume. I may be wrog.

@cromagnon: In the last GOTM, i attacked the Germans and there was a nuke in their city which i had just captured. Except that i had destroyed it so i am guessing that since I hadn't had the tech yet or uranium, it wouldnt let me keep it.

I can confirm that the captured ICBMs are destroyed. I had just been engaged in a nuclear exchange in my PBEM, and in one of the many skirmishes, my forces had razed a border city. There're 2 ICBMs in there, and they're destroyed...

Hmm, or maybe it's because I razed the city, then they got destroyed? :hmm:

I guess t'is because you don't have the tech, no?
It happened to me several times... :)
I have the tech alright, 'cause I launched the nukes first and totally devastated Arabia. :) The link is in my sig.

I have a whole series of questions on radar towers and their effects that I'm hoping either (1) someone has tested objectively, or (2) someone heard definitive answers via a Firaxis chat or otherwise (beta testers?). Some questions I have strong guesses as to the answer, but certainly no definitive answers.

We're told that radar towers ("RT") give combat bonuses of 25% for units within a 2 tile radius. Thanks to Arathorn for adding additional questions to my original 6 :goodjob: and now on to the questions:

1. Does the bonus apply to a unit attacking from "RT+2 tiles" into an adjacent tile that is "RT+3 tiles?"

2. Does the bonus apply to bombardment attacks and defenses?

3. If yes to question 2, does the bonus apply to a bombardment from "RT+1" where the target is "RT+3?"

4. Does the bonus apply to naval units?

5. Does the bonus apply to air units? And if so, where does the air combat "take place" -- is it the city square in which a fighter on AS is stationed or is it the attacker's target tile or even elsewhere?

6. Does the bonus apply to non-units (i.e., city improvement, city population and terrain enhancement defense values)?

7. Do the benefits "stack" if you have more than one Radar Tower in an area? (e.g. 2 "in range" gives a 50% bonus)

8. Do the benefits work outside of your cultural boundary or are they limited by culture?

9. What is the defensive value of a radar tower, as a terrain improvement? (obviously only applicable for defense vs. bombardment)

10. What is the interaction of the answer to questions 6 and 9?

I can certainly make what I think are educated guesses about the answers, but am really looking for something definitive and iobjective (i.e., testing or direct Firaxian comment). Thanks!

Does the A.I. Fight each other, leaving you alone? Do they ever try to form an Alliance with you, against their enemy?

@Volker: Yes on both questions. The AI is very much willing to go to war with another AI civ, especially when there is a need to expand without any territory left. Or when the AI lacks resources. Once in a war, they seek allies, which can also be you...

Good, just wondering, cuz in my first game ever, All the A.I. Civs (expect 1 I think) Decalred war on me and attacked. Could have been cuz I was weak with only 2 cities tho, but had good Adanves.

I think you can post this in GD, Catt. I've checked to see if it has been covered, but I can't find that. To my knowledge:

1. No, you're not in range...
2. Bombardment isn't attack, so, no.
3. :)
4. No clue, but I don't see why not.
5. No, air combat isn't attack/defence either.
6. No.
7. I don't know, but I doubt that. I mean, what's in real life the benefit of two radars???
8. Well, the radar tower gets destroyed inside 'enemy' cultural boundaries.
9. None.
10. :)

Q2
City Wall has an upkeep of 1 g/p/t, right? According to the info center is has 0 upkeep but IMO this is false. Am I right?

On q1, I'll have to check. On q2: definitely no upkeep cost for city walls!

The stock exchange costs 200, and has an upkeep of 3. Don't expect any culture from it, but it doubles gold production in the city where it's build (just like banks, and it's cumulative too!)
The prerequisite is The Corporation advance, not economics!

Thanx :) But is this what you mean: bank: 50% increase to the city's tax revenue.??!!

If it doubles the gold revenue it is almost like a Great Wonder...

Yes, of course. It's a bank, but it has a different name. One more thing: you need five of them, and then you can build the wall street small wonder.

No, walls are free to upkeep (unless of course the icon in the city screen is wrong)

Building any walls then ERIKK? ;)

Question!
Ok in Civ2 you could irrigate anything that is near water.
It seems in Civ3 that you can only start irrigating by a river....someone clarify this and add more info about irrigation :)
