okay, not!

this is a setting you select at the beginning of the game and you are stuck with it.

maybe a hex editor can be used.....

To take a screen shot, just press the Print Screen button to the right of the F12 key. Than go to a paint program, do paste and see if you like it!

Hex editor........no clue.

A hex editor allows you to edit the file at the raw byte level, using hexidecimal notation. For Example, if you wanted to get gold in a Civ1 game, you would use a hex editor to modify the appropriate bytes in the file. Very dangerous, if you don't know what your'e doing

Every PC has a hex editor, sometime two depending on the version of Edit you have. Open a command window, and type in debug to enter the hex editor.

Again, if you wanna fool around with this, I can't emphasize enough that you can royally screw something up if you're not careful. I take no responsibility for any screwups. . .

I'm not a newbie, but this thing has annoyed me enough already... On my home continent, whenever a city finishes something, it helpfully asks, do i want to build a Swordsman? The thing is, i'm in the modern age, and the appropriate unit would be Mechanized Infantry, (which my other continent with the FP offers, just as it should!) and i wish i could type in, Never Ever build any more Swordsmen ever again.....! Did i do something to screw up which unit it offers me? Help. Thanks.

I've noticed this. I think it builds the best unit for the buck, so if it's swordsmen, then that's what it wants to build. Even if you have Infantry. Why??? The only reason I can come up with is you would get the weaker unit so much quicker.

How do you sell city improvements?

Right click on the improvement, you should be able to sell it. I don't know if you can sell an improvment granted by a wonder, tho. (Granary, barracks, hydro plant. . .)

click on the end tech you want, the required techs to get there will be queued - they'll be marked 1,2,3 etc.

If you want to control the order, shift-click on the techs to define your own order.

In general you are not able to sell such an improvement, at least as it was placed in the city by the wonder and wasn't already there before. Don't know if you can sell it from a city that has '2' improvements of same type (first build granary, finish pyr., sell one granary?).

selling imps:

you can sell any improvement you bulit in a city except for wonders, small and great, and aqueduct/hospital.

what you get for free you cannot sell (i.e. those from wonders).

you CAN sell the imps at any time - even after they are 'duplicated' by a wonder.

We should underline, that you can sell only one improvement in a turn.
Would be nice, 'duplicated' imps marked by a star or something (>SMAC).

I thought as much. I"ve never tried to sell an improvement before. I did, in this game I think, build a barracks in a city and sold it the turn before I finished SunTzu's. . .

If the imp. was gained through a wonder, then the 'sell' option will not come up. If you built it then you can 'sell' and the option will be there.

You definitely can sell those which you built, even if they are also there due to a wonder. The imp does not disappear, since the wonder automatically replaces it with a free one.

The example with granary - pyramids - free granary - sell original granary is exactly how it works

lo' all :) I was wondering how to pass or skip a units turn, You know when the computer goes to all yer guys and wants you to do something with em...right now I just move them a square. How can I just keep the unit there and pass his turn?

Welcome to CFC Bodacious. :)
You can press the space key to make a unit skip it's turn (or click the icon that looks like a circle with a line through), or you can fortify the unit, which is better as it doesn't use up the movement points.

edit: silly mistake

thanks for the quick reply Crazy. One other question now. I press the space to pass a units turn..and the enter key to 'END my turn' right? Space doesn't end my turn? thanks in advance!

That's right, "enter" ends your turn.
