Ar. I see. I read a document saying that they only give you the two CHEAPEST techs and never the ones you're working on. When I finished the ToE and found that I had the Corporation despite reseraching it...I wanted to post it but asked here. (captured the shots)

Vinc MORE MEMORY

you can usually reload from autosave and it'll work.

About ToE: I finally got a clue and did the following when building ToE - Pick a tech that you can complete the turn BEFORE ToE completes. When you get that tech with 1 more turn to ToE, choose the MOST EXPENSIVE tech (usually Atomic Theory), and TURN DOWN the research to 0 or 10. Next turn you get Atomic Theory, then CHOOSE ELECTRONICS, so you can immediately start on Hoovers. This gets the most bang for the buck of that GREAT wonder!

About starting WWIII - get as many MPP's as you can, up to half the world. Preferrably get natural allies against natural enemies (examine city names to see whose been picking on who). Then pick a fight with the other side - various ways to do this, honorably or not, subtle or not. Rebuff trade offers, cultural attacks, trade embargos, propaganda, espionage, frequent "accidental" incursions, blockades on land or sea, declaration of war, or sneak attack. When you are attacked in your territory the MPP will kick in.

I asked this anothr thread, ut I might as well post it here so all can see.(I dont know the answer yet)

Where in the editor can you chang the number of turns

IIRC, they have a move of 1 and so you can load them in to a ship like any other unit.

Lt., I figured I'd ask you since I know you answer your FAQ's.....anyway here goes:

Last night I was feeling partcularily creative so I decided to start a thread over in strat's & tips. It's called Reagent's Lounge...for guys like me who play Reagent & PTW to swap tips, observations, stories.....to get better.

anyway

During my creative fit, I went and put Bold and some other schtuff in the subject line....and as you well know, it appeared as text in the Thread Title/Link. help.

some Q's

a. Who can I talk to (admin?} to have this text removed, or is this my oversight, and I can remove it myself?

b. Can I construct creative post on other programs (write/wordpad/any suggestions?) and paste them too CivForums?

c. U know of any plan to streamline CivForum in the future?

ciao for now
:)

a) You can PM the mods in that forum to fix the thread. For Civ3 Strategy, that would be gonzo and hippo, er gonzo for civ and Cunobelin of Hippo.

b) Sure, why not?

c) That's TF's call. Posts regarding the site shld be posted in the Site Feedback forum, which is way down on the forum mainpage. ;)

Bear in mind, TF and the mods will have to consider the extra work it entails when opening up new sections, so they'll only do it if there's proven to be a real need and demand. ;) The trend is not to, since it increases the mods' workload...

...soo....you're either a Mod, yourself, ....or, your working for the Mods.................

To PM someone, click the PM button on the top of one of their posts, or click the PM button in their profile, or click the PM button next to the user's name in the members list, or... well, there's quite a few ways of doing it. Then just type your message and send it.

Q: which is more valuable gold or Gem?

Q :Does different types of resources bring u diff. amt of income?
example: Oil bring u more $ than Rubber when u sell it to a same civ

Q: Which is the resource that brings u most $ when u sell it?

redhulkz, there are three very different kinds of natural resources in the game and you shouldn't confuse them. There's more details on pp63-64 of your manual. There's also something here on civfanatics, I think in the FAQ, but I would have to go find it.

To summarise:

Gold, which is a bonus resource just gives you extra money if you work that tile with a citizen. It does nothing 'special'. You cannot trade it.

Gems are one of several luxury resources or luxuries. They give variable bonuses if you work the tile (gems, for example, gives +4 money, just like gold). But gems also act to make your citizens happy if you link cities to them with a road, and you can trade your gems with other civs if you wish, which might net you more money, or tech, or other stuff.

Oil and rubber are both strategic resources. Not only do they, like luxuries, provide bonuses to a worked square, but they are required to produce certain units. Different units require different resources - so, for example, rubber is required for infantry, while oil is also needed for tanks. Most 'modern' ships need oil, but not rubber. So it all depends what you want to, or can, build. You can sometimes ask for a lot to trade these - however it may not be wise to give a potential enemy what he needs to build his forces. How much a civ gives for a strategic resource basically depends on how much it needs the resource. (This also applies to luxuries in trade, too).

Note that you can get, as well as give, stretegic or luxury resources in trade, if you don't have them in your territory.

Hope that helps.
