anarres:

Your Forbidden Palace can be flipped though.
 Ouch!

If I flip an enemies Forbidden Palace it, as a small wonder, is destroyed though, right? Just can't imagine I could so easily get a FP for myself.
Hygro:

I know you can select to use propaganda against another culture's capitol, but can it work?
Wow, that would be a sneaky way to take a capitol. Surely it is extremely expensive just to try?

Thanks for the replies, both of you.

well, are you talking about when you build a unit and it asks you what to build next?

no that little text box that comes up saying "Washington builds Airport" or "Pollution Strikes Washington"

sorry, you're going to have to wait that thru. You might want to brign a book for the wait ;)

Thats what I was worried about but I thought It was worth asking, maybe I had over looked something. Thanks

Why would you want to do that? That's really imporant - the governor will go wacky with production and start pumping out any random unit. In this one game I downloaded, all the governors were asking me to build swordsmen instead of infantry. If you were able to disable those it would be a lot more micromanagement.

or less micromanagement if you don't care what they build.

Anyway, he's tlaking about the little notices like WLTKD and Pollution and Global warming (correct me if I'm wrong).

He already has it so the governer is picking production (so I gathered from his post)

What happens if I go bankrupt? Example: I have 11 gold and am running a deficit of -4 gold per turn. I have squeezed all the gold I can from selecting which tiles to work in my cities. I am unwilling to adjust my spending for the next 3 turns which means I will have a treasury of -1 at the end.

I probably should have just waited and seen what would happen. Instead I sold a tech to the 3 civs I know to put my treasury at a safe level.

Did I avoid dire consequences or overreact?

if you are playing warlord or higher, then you sell off 1 building (like a barracks I believe is priority 1) and 1 unit that you are paying (as in, not a unit getting free support).

You can never lose more than 1 building/unit per turn.

What does WLTKD mean?

Is there a way to make the computer moves faster, or even skip them? Cos I'm playing a game where I'm allied with the Germans and they have heaps of infantry and other units and it takes about 5minutes for them to have their turn.

no your right Hygro just the little text in the black box on the world view. And I don't mind the more micromanagement there not build military units only buildings

joedoe, WLTKD is "we love the king day"

You could try turning off "animate friend movements" or whatever. That would speed things up. Or you could hold "shift," which makes the units go by faster, or you could turn off all evidence of friend movements...

Just look under preferences.

Thanks.

Is the AI smart enough to tell if I put the game victory only to space race, and all the AI will concentrate is space race? Or will they do their normal thing?

I hope the AI is smart enough, it will be interesting to see what the AI does if I set the victory condition to just cultural, or something else.

Thanks in advance.

I have a few other questions.

How do I register for the tournament?

How many cultural points do I need for a city to get a cultural victory?
(I know 100,000 gives you a cultural victory for the empire, but I want to know how much ONE CITY needs :))

20,000 in one city.

No, I don't think the A.I. will have specific goals in mind. Though building SS parts is important when avaliable.

There was a sreenie on Apolyton where some guy used this spy mission succesfully against the capitol city. Should work (never tried myself though).

WOOHOO! Now I know why I should get lots of money!

Have you ever used propanda succesfully anywhere?
If I got tons of money, they are in democracy or communism. I always had the feeling it was easier to go to war.

Can you use it IN war successfully?

can you culture flip one of their major cities in war (with/out your people, etc.)

I had successful propaganda once. Out of maybe 5 tries. I'd rather steal troop plans though.

Communism is weaker then republic IIRC, or your people always want the other one (communism beats republic, but republic beats communism... neverended cycle)
