As the level of difficulty goes up, so does the number of citizens born unhappy. Part of the challenge of the higher difficulties is dealing with unhappiness.

You can deal with unhappiness at the beginning with either Military Police (warrior in city), by using the luxury slider, or by creating entertainers (pulling people off working tiles).

vincenzo,

Don't be put off! It is harder for sure, but keeping a warrior in your cities is not a bad strat for Regent. Remember that under despotism you can have 2 warriors acting as 'police' units.

Keeping units at home can be a good idea to stop the unwanted advances of other civs too. They can declare war unexpectedly, and will do so much more on Regent, since their production and growth is not crippled like on Chiefton. Having a defender in each city makes you less attractive as a target.

Welcome to CFC muhammadfaizalr! :)

Which symbols are you refering too? The smilies like these:

:) :D :( [dance]

Or the acronyms like:

IIRC, FWIW, IMO, IMHO, AFAIK, GW, GL, ToE?

I built a city (ancient times) on a flood plain and diseases are a problem. Is it not a good idea to build on flood plains, or is there a way around the problem?
Thanks

Sanitation/hospitals? Meanwhile, live with it, and/or curse the random number generator, it is somewhat offset by the high growth rate you get from working flood plains.

Cracker discusses this in his War Accademy article, and recommended moving to a nearby hill. so several cities could share a group of flood plain tiles. The problem with flood plains is limited or no shield production. If you have mixed terrain, like having a wheat or cow tile, you probably don't want to build on it and just get normal city production.

A Mycenian Galley appeared at my shore. The Mycenians seem to be harassing my people. Am I able to attack the ship with my ground troops in any way?
Thanks

They are barbarians. Feel free to attack them and maybe promote your troops, however, your groud troops cannot attack galleys. If you really want to show them who's the boss, build galleys yourself. :)

I've always wondered...

What does FWIW mean?

Since I can't attack the Mycenian galleys now, is there any way to track down their barbarians. They just seem to appear out of nowhere, do a hit and run, and disappear. My military advisor tells me they are in the area, but I cannot see them.
Thanks

They usually spawn from a barb village located at the coast. Once they have spawned, they don't disappear until they are sunk by naval attack. They may have spawned from a barb village that is not located on your continent, thus you probably can't see the *source* of the barbs. Anyway, build a galley and go for them. You might damage them with catapult(s) if you have some. Note: Barb galleys can't sail out of coastal tiles. If you own the Great Lighthouse, you might place an unhealthy galley of yours on a sea tile at the end of the turn to avoid a barb counter attack. Barb galley will never attack units on sea tiles, even if they had enough movement to sail back to coast after a succesful attack. My 2 cents.

Thanks for the info. What about the barbarian ground units? Is there any to track them down?

Attack the barb camps. Cover all areas with your culture (i.e. settle everywhere), thus no new barb camps will occur. Barbs camps can appear in areas that have been explored (not neccessarely by you), but are currently in the fog of war. So you might also prevent the appearance of barb camps by placing enough units on unsettled territory.

I did some hunting around and couldn't find my answer: I know the AI has aggression levels 1 to 5 for each of the Civs. Does anyone know where I can find those figures (including PtW Civs)?

Thanks in advance...

It's in the editor. I don't know if someone has actually pulled the info out of the editor, but if you open the editor, and turn the custom rules on (It's in a drop down, I don't recall which one, I'm not at home right now) then you can edit the rules. It's under the Civilizations tab. I think. . .like I said, I'm not at my 'puter right now.

Thanks, Turner_727. I found it in the editor.

Shabbaman, I know I can find them in the manual (which I have at home). Problem is, I'm playing at work!! ;) :D
