BOTM 208 Results & Congratulations

Willem Van Orange of Netherlands (Quattro Stagioni), Monarch Difficulty

Well, we sure had a lot of different start locations chosen. Some sensible, some incomprehensible, but all completed games were succesful victories, so who can argue with success? WLanky13 travelled furthest, making good use of the waves, and krikav trekked furthest inland the old fashioned way. I figure they deserve some kind of recognition for stamina or something...:hatsoff:

Most of the competition was in the categories of Domination and Conquest, and 200k+ points needed just to get on the podium, with LowtherCastle taking top honors and the Gold. Two players made it to space, with Nocho edging out Dynamic Spirit for the win.

Religious and Cultural victories were represented by uncontested submissions, but are well deserving of accolades.:goodjob:

It was a different kind of map and it was sure interesting to see all the different approaches. Congrats to everyone who played and had fun.

Here's where everyone settled.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

The settling map would've been about 1/3 the size it came out if it wasn't for just three people... @krikav, @WLanky13 and @LowtherCastle!
It's nice to show the entire world :D

Think I settled where Powerfaker did. At least it was in that area. Not played the game for a while now, but I did play this one to probably a while after 1AD.

Ah yes, settling on turn 24 was not my finest moment. I wanted to go inland sea, so I started going around the upper side of the sea. After I got to around the first pigs though, I realized that the inland sea part of the map with all the rivers was on the other side of the inland sea. :shake: So I sailed all the way back around until I found a suitable spot. In hindsight, I probably should've settled where nocho, mscellaneous, and Powerfaker settled, which was a much better spot than where I eventually went. It made the start a bit more challenging being so close to Genghis and way behind in development, but thankfully it was only monarch.

I was slightly disappointed nobody went for the two pigs in the rainforest shore. Seems like you were almost there.:splat: That was generated to be an AI starting location, but they had also been spawned in another section of the map, so had to be erased. (Or did they? evil ideas spawning now)
