So - no less than about 40 of you braved the challenge of the deity game. And almost half of you won! Clearly I made this game too easy... ;)

Duckweed - what can I say - you were the only person to pick Challenger (which would have ought to have made Tokugawa a very powerful pain in your side), and yet you won the gold medal! A true Civ master! And Jovan Kukic managed the silver with a space win. I was quite impressed that several people managed space wins considering how quickly you have to do it to beat the AI on deity. Not many military wins (only two domination and no conquest) which I guess is due to the difficulty warring against deity AIs.

Here's where everyone settled.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Ooops, sorry, copy-and-paste error meant the links to the results were missing from my post. I've reinstated them now.

Hooray! Another shield to hang on the walls of my virtual trophy hall!

(By the way, am I actually eligible? I played the Adventurer save on this one ... still haven't got that elusive Deity win)

Rest of awards/links to final positions etc. to come? I'm hopeful of slowest cultural victory :)

Curses! I did get the slowest cultural victory but not the lowest-scoring one :p

My first ever deity win but this win required a lot less effort than my loss on the last Immortal game imo. Isolated on an island means a lot easier cultural victory than any sort of victory on a torroidal Immortal one-land-mass-for-all map.

Oh, and Duckweed = awesome. I appreciate his detailed game reports too :goodjob:

I don't want to be too gushing, but.....

Duckweed, you're amazing! :worship:

It is very telling that the silver medalist only got a quarter of the score.

kcd_swede: 1430 AD Religious Victory, 43,556 points.
neilmeister: 1610 AD Religious Victory, 30,146 points.

Great game. I had more fun losing this one than I did in a lot of my victories. Kudos to the admins, and to our winners!

I agree with Neilmeister, Duckweed's score outclassed the field, and with the challenger save as well. :goodjob:

I had my fingers crossed for the fastest religious award, based on what was reported in the spoiler threads. But a bronze medal??? That was completely unexpected. I guess I owe Urbis some gratitude for choosing the adventerur save, or at least to Jesusin for not playing up to his usual standard of excellence in the culture game. ;) But the folks who really deserve my gratitude are the ones over there in the HoF Challenge Series IV (Game 10, on-going) who gave me lots of tips in improving just this type of victory on deity level.:thanx:

And to Neilmeister... no need to gripe... the challenge is still on-giong and I'm sure you can exact your revenge there if you set your mind to it. :smug:

Edit to add: just thought I'd mention that this is my first high score medal ever. I always thought I'd have to learn how to aim for high scores to get one of those... but I guess my luck makes up for some of my lack of skill in that area.

Great set-up!

Congratulations to all Deity winners. :)
Extra congratulations for Duckweed and evil_spock.

Thanks for a very playable deity game! Congrats to all the winners... and kudos to Duckweed and evil_spock. :hatsoff:
