News: BOTM 41 Results and Congratulations

Hmm, in my game Humbaba attacked and retreated with 1HP left. When attacking it the next turn, my victory odds where 90%. Could I really had lost?
Well, maybe you can check for us as to whether or not you have the "ignore free wins" option selected.

If yes, then the combat odds would (apparently--I have not checked and am just going by what kcd_swede said) show you 90% even though your odds might be 100% depending upon where you're attacking (inside of your territory or out--again going by what kcd_swede has said without testing it out). If no, then I'm not sure what to think.

My best xOTM ever. First time in top 10, first time over 100k.
Well done C63! It's quite hard to get gold by SS race victory.

Fun Game. Despite the problems I still like this kind of game -- especially at the lower levels. Kudos to kcd_Swede for taking chances on the setup. Keep 'em coming!

A peaceful gold medal on Noble setting? Conquistador 63 is ascending to heroic status in the civfanatics pantheon! Well done! :goodjob:

Congrats to all the winners.

Nice work, beestar, in beating me in the realm of tomfoolery. :)

It's too bad we were the only ones who dared Challenger. On the other hand, it guaranteed me at least the Silver Medal of Foolhardiness :D

Third fastest Dom victory despite taking Challenger, I'm happy with that.

Thanks for the interestingly different challenge, I hope we have more in the future (possibly with more playtesting :) ). Seriously though I do appreciate it. Forting the Hits was cool!

Uhhh... neither. We only needed to research Math and The Wheel... Math for a Fort, The Wheel for a Road. Build both of them on top of the Record. BAM, +1 Happiness from the Record (and the Movie and the Muscial aka theatre face).

EDIT: Scratch that, you only needed to research Math. Other than beestar and myself, the rest of you started the game knowing The Wheel.

Or just settle on top of them, then you don't need to research anything!

(In my game, I forgot that you could use a fort to get the resources, so I ended up settling on top of the one that was on the 1-tile island, but resigned myself to not getting either of the other two because neither seemed in a good position to settle on top of . Luckily, later in the game, I set a couple of spare workers on automated. A while later, I noticed I had all three resources and wondered why - and of course, then saw that the automated workers had built forts on them! :D)

What kind of a player could leave his workers automated?!

What kind of a player could leave his workers automated and still get a better result?! lol

:joke:

I learnt about the forting of resources in the 1AD spoiler.

Quite pleased with my 8th placed finish! My score was better than some earlier domination finishes - I guess because they vassalised and I didn't (thus gaining more building/wonder points).
