Well, this turned out to be an Immortal game that played a bit easier than Immortal usually does. Lots of victories and only a couple of losses. Blame a watery map with an awesome watery map civ.

The Sushi isle's offered a real opportunity, or trap, for everyone.
Quite a few players got themselves in trouble with over enthusiastic Sushi distribution, and there were some ridiculously big cities. They also contributed to the unusual situation of the Cow almost going to the Gold medalist.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but the fish actually spelt 'SID', though you needed resources bubbles on an to zoom out to see it.

srad, -Asterix- and Jovan Kukic claimed the medals, with some very impressive scores.

I was a little surprised to see that the Cultural VC did not go to someone who abused Sushi, instead it went to a player using the 'Jesusin' method: Jesusin.

Congratulations to all the medalists and to the fastest finishers. :band:

The Sampo challenge was very keenly contested:

1st was WastinTime with a date of 1210ad.
2nd was pixiejmcc with 1260ad, with immediate retirement afterwards.
3rd was afker with 1520ad, it was very closely fought, with 4 finishes in the 16th century.

Congratulations to them. WastinTime's date was especially impressive as he still pulled off the fastest Diplomatic victory.

BTW, everyone settled in place, so no need for a map. :)

Gee... I'm getting familiar with these silver medals. Funny that I even got it here without doing any sushi! :D

Congratz to htadus for ending up 4th with his lowest scoring domination!

Thanks for the fun game Neil!

I screwed up the chance of a prize after my awful Celtic war, but I knew it at the time, so I could relax and have some fun. :) The sushi island was insane...

I was a little surprised to see that the Cultural VC did not go to someone who abused Sushi, instead it went to a player using the 'Jesusin' method: Jesusin.
No surprise here. How many years since Jesusin didn't win the cultural award in a game in which he took part???

Thanks Asterix-. It just happens, that I am very familier with 4th 5th sixth and 7th spots myself.

I guess there were only two dimination games.

Great game Bcool and hopefully I can get a conquest one of these days. Actually a fast one may be even better.

Congrats to winner and thanks for the game neilmmeister.

Good job to the medalists and award winners! :goodjob:

Thanks as always to the staff! :goodjob: :goodjob:

I'm just happy to win any immortal game (only second time ever).

So who won the Sampo Shield? I might have been in the running for that ... :mischief:

(or did I get the sampo ambulance?)

dV

Sampo ambulance player will remain nameless, but they built it in 2020ad.

In an Immortal game, this is remarkable in itself.

Congrats to the winners. Very fun game indeed! Watery maps put up their own challenges.

Maybe nobody really tried to get a fast cultural victory through Sushi.
Maybe Sushi is always slower than stopping research at Liberalism.
...or maybe both are true :D

You shouldn't believe everything you hear. Fame is treacherous and unfair. Jovan Kukic beat me in BOTM48, not so long ago.

I am still confused why I never saw a Permanent Alliance option in my game. Once it was clear I was not going to be able to win the Diplomatic game, I was counting on an alliance with Pacal. Was this option off for this game? I did not see that in the setup. Was still a fun loss, Immortal is usually well above my winning level.

Sorry to hear that and I am glad you still enjoyed the game.

By default in the game, Permanent Alliances is not switched on. So if the game had the option turned on, as in changed from default, then it would have been mentioned in the announcement thread.

You can check what options are enabled by using the Settings tab in the Victories menu (the fist).

Hey I just found out, that from the results page you can see people's log files in a nice HTML/java interface! Very cool. Interesting to see just how late the earliest conquest started attacking cities.

WHOAAAA!!! Crapthalon is almost mine, I can feel it, I can smell it ... :deadhorse:

It was one of a few games I achieved my goal. Maybe because this goal was so easy ;)

Hmmm...Back to notice I won by default a space colony fastest award. Grrr...it doesn't make up my easy fastest conquest award lost to Jovan last BOTM...

But at least conquest are faster to win. Next hard award to get: CULTURE. Wonder why...

Anyways, @Jastrow
