News: GOTM 22 Saves Available

This game MUST be played in patch version 1.74. We will NOT accept any games played under any other patch versions, and you can't play it in warlords!

Further, it MUST be played using HOF mod version 1.74.001.
Mac players can download their version of the 1.61.011 mod from this thread.

Civilization: Rome (Leader: Julius Caesar; Traits: Expansive, organised)
Rivals: 8
Difficulty: monarch
Map: Pangea
Mapsize: Standard
Climate: Rocky
Water level: Low
Starting Era: Ancient
Speed: Epic
Options: Raging barbs, always war.
Victory Conditions: all enabled

Julius Caesar:
Julius Caesar is Organised and Expansive; starting with fishing and mining. Organised allows -50% civic maintenance, as well as double production speed of lighthouses & courthouses. Expansive allows +3 health in every city, as well as double production speed of granaries and harbors.

Unique unit: Praetorian
The Praetorian replaces the swordsman. Whilst it costs slightly more (67 hammers vs 60), this is more than compensated by the increase in base strength - 8 vs 6. It does lose the swordsman's +10% vs cities bonus though.

For sure.

The pre-game discussion proved that there is a lot of interest and speculation for this GOTM. This will result in lots of watery mouths eagerly awaiting the spoiler thread. I know the details of my game keep spinning to the front of my mind heh.

I would enjoy the spoilers more while this game (with pretty unique settings) is still fresh.

I think there was a general server problem affecting the GOTM site overnight, but it's OK now.

Didnt played Civ4 for year. Come to latest available GOTM saves. Found that required patch 1.74.001. Double checked list of available saves. No patch 1.74 in list. Ok installed game, patch, GOTM save- ^$#$&, not playable. OK. My fault. Where this @#$ing patch 1.74? No links. No searsh engines on HOFMOD @#@#%ing page(site). Where this "1.74"? Search engine gives no glues here, on civfanatics. Ok. Check Civ4 Patches and Updates. Long list, but no "1.74". U running GOTM several years, is it so hard to add link to basic patch, it will be at least more friendly for new users. At now i dowloaded about 100Mb, and still didnt start playng- Nice work

Launch Civ, Go Advanced - Check for Updates and it will autpatch your civ. And next time ask nicely.

If you don't have Inet on your Civ PC, try downloading directly from http://download.gamespot.com/d3/gsc/strategy/civilizationiv/Civ4Patch_174_Final.exe

If you've got the patch, you imght also need to update your DirectX - you need a June version at the least.

Throwing monkeydung would not help.

Sorry, I don't understand the way you state your problems. You said you cannot find a HoF Mod version, and I replied to that question. If you are saying that you do not know how to upgrade your Civ4 software to version 1.74 then try the v1.74 Patch (PC) link on this page.
