GOTM 62 - Germans

Yes, you get the chance to play Bismarck over the holidays. The map will be small, so those who wish to play COTM31, and need the time, might be a little better accomodated. However it is an Archipelago map with 80% ocean. Good Luck! (Well, it is Regent level, so maybe Luck isn't required, so have fun!)

Civilization: Germany
Rivals: 5 pre-selected.
Barbarians: Raging
Difficulty: Regeng
Land Form: Archipelago, 80% ocean, small map.
Geology: 5 billion years old, Normal, Temperate

(Special Note: Just a reminder - PTW only.)

Ouch. Germans on a small archipelago

We will be alone and without a river. The game might be the only food bonus on our island.

My worker will move to the BG, improve it and then probably chop the game.
Research will go Pottery and then straight to MM at high speed. Try to time some settlers and few galley prebuilds ready by then.

finally a game where i should be able to build every single wonder in the world...

but maybe i'll also try conquest.

settle in place. aim for map making and great light house and search for iron and horses...

I believe the variegated culture limit was only introduced in C3C, but I could be wrong.

should we rely more on horseman or on swordman (provided that we eventually can find a source of them. edited after socralynnek's post)? 5 billion years-many mountains/hills. maybe swordman will be better.

A GOTM on Regent? I wouldn't rely on both, iron and horses. You better plan for getting none of those two.

I agree with GLH being a must if we're not on a big island.

I'm back, this time for real :D
Still in the BC. My goal is a diplomatic victory.
If someone hasn't started yet, and want to join in this race, i'll be glad to have contenders.
Oh, happy new year everyone.

lurker's comment: Welcome back! :wavey: And welcome back to the chase for the next eptathlon...

Oh well, there goes my chance to steal a Diplomatic win - I've managed to snag a couple of awards by being the only one to choose a condition.
