GOTM 63 - Zulu!

Recently the Zulus have been spotted everywhere! They haven't appeared in GOTM for a while, so their time has arrived. After last month's small archipelago map, this month's map will give you plenty of room - Standard size Pangaea, with only 60% Ocean. Up the difficulty a step to Monarch and place 9 'friendly' AI's on the map for you to make pawns out of. Enjoy!

Civilization: Zulu
Rivals: 9 pre-selected.
Barbarians: Raging
Difficulty: Monarch
Land Form: Pangaea, 60% ocean, standard map.
Geology: 5 billion years old, Warm, Wet

Loss of Expansionist Civ Trait
Don't Know Pottery

(Special Note: Just a reminder - only PTW Saves will be Available.)

Well, this looks like a game that I will really enjoy and make my, um, triumphant return to actually submitting finished games! I think I am just going to settle in place and go for a Conquest Vic. Here's hoping for a fun and somewhat "easy" game!

That gold/hill will give nice commerce in a six-turner. Only being expansionist we'll not really need commerce.

Scout north on the mountain, Worker on cattle, settle in place or where the food is.

That delta to the northwest makes it look like RCP may be awkward, but there also doesn't seem to be any incentive to move unless the worker or scout sees something.

Unless there are more BGs, I wonder if it is even worth building a granary - this may be a game of use the AI as settler factories. I think I'll research The Wheel first and go for an early kill if there are horses around.

About when do the saves usually get posted, I've never been waiting for one like this one? Thanks for understanding...sorry if I sound like a jerk.

Saves are available around midnight at the server time; this time a couple hours later, but they're out!

First post updated with Conquest bonus and Predator Equalizers. Thought I'd play around with the Civ traits this time. Players always say the Expansionist trait is fairly weak, so I don't think the Predator players will miss it too much!

wow! this is truely an ideal place for 20K!one cow, 2 hills, one with gold, 2 mountains, one with gold... it could only be better if there are a few more bonus tiles...

Does this mean that Conuest class Zulus are expansionist, religious, and militant?

Yes it does. The Conquest Zulu should get 1 turn of Anarchy for Government changes and half cost Religious buildings. However, they do not receive Ceremonial Burial for free; free Techs are assigned separately from the civ trait.

Well, the Predator Maluses more or less prescribes this style of play.

What about the initial Scout?

EDIT: Found this info on the release page.
