Japan's turn, as the difficulty goes up to Regent level. Small, archipelago map with 60% ocean makes for some interesting terrain - enjoy and Good Luck!

I've been fighting against some little buggy, so I've been feeling pretty drained and totally energyless - the saves should be up tomorrow night (so starting on the 17th), and submissions for this contest will be accepted through Dec. 17th.

The saves will be available >>here<< on Nov. 17th.

Civilization: Japan
Rivals: 6 preset
Barbarians: Restless
Difficulty: Regent
Land Form: Archipelago, 60% ocean, Small map.
Geology: 5 billion years old, Normal, Cool

hope you´ll get well soon, steve. best wishes from my side!

with this start, it is very unlikely to get additional useful information from the "logical" move of worker to cattle. i might consider to move worker to horse!

in any case, small and ´pelago does not sound like a granary could pay off easily.

emphasize on research or production? depends on who is around and how i can get the starting techs. megalou´s recent comment about an early emphasis on commerce made me think about this topic again.

I don't know about that.

Cattle+Forest+3xBG+Horses at size 6 = Nice 30 + 30 six-turn 5..6 Settler Factory

sure. my reasoning is only whether we will have enough space to make use of a SF with 6 rivals. on the other hand, regent AIs take forever to build their cities, so if the surrounding area promises enough space, i might build the granary.

Even if there is little space we need the unit support given by each town. Not that I really understood Piú Freddo's version.

Re commerce: not nearly as important in ptw of course, so what would you really aim for, templar? Fast research?

if Alphabet is not around, research would indeed be very important. i´d use any beaker i could get to please my science advisor.

with which regard do you mean commerce is less important in PTW?

i assume piu was already a few techs ahead and in Rep. otherwise i do not yet see the 6-turner.

He was working on the assumption that the cattle can be irrigated, I guess. Of course, this may not possible, or practical, but a small 60% arch might be a pretty strange map. Possibly even a pangaea in practice.

del62 - you need to play this in ptw. but if you have c3c, you automatically have ptw on your disk as well. simply look up the ptw.exe-file on your c-drive and manually start it from there.
