For all those who don't read Announcements ...

We are cutting over to a new GOTM server. The process has already started, and when you connect to most pages on the existing server you will be redirected to the equivalent page on the new server. Please continue to use your normal bookmarks and links.

You can tell when you are on the new GOTM server if the URL contains '72.36.239.243' instead of 'gotm.civfanatics.net'. In a day or so the DNS system will take you directly to the new server, and the URLs will revert to normal.

The scripts and pages have undergone a number of changes in order for this redirection to happen, and to make the transition as transparent as possible. However, I'm sure I shall have missed something, so if you spot any abnormal behaviour please contact me asap via PM or email.

OK, I've verified that there's a problem with IE6. Firefox and Safari work fine., and I haven't tried IE7 yet.

[UPDATE] IE7 gives the same problem

[UPDATE 2] I've added a link to click if you are using one of the above !*&*@! browsers.

Is that the reason foir the gotm18 page being so full of errors?

Correct. I guess I missed a couple of edits that were needed to make the scripts portable. Hopefully now fixed ... :thanx:

Is it just me, or the Global Rankings page is glitching with scores calculation?

Someone has reported this to me by PM as well.

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to investigate yet, and with UK local elections tomorrow, I probably won't get to it until Friday.

Nonsense! Those results are just fine. Everyone knows I achieved the maximum possible score in every game I submitted. And some that I didn't submit, for that matter. :mischief:

Looks like a difference in the way the new database server handles floating point numbers. I've fixed the database structure and rebuilt the GR tables. Please let me know if there are any remaining problems.
