Welcome to the 175th game in the GOTM V Training Series! This Series will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out these features from Civ5's expansions and DLCs in a friendly environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play and the Victory Condition to strive for. You can read more about the GOTM and Training Series concept in this thread.
Must Read!
We would like to ask you to abide by our most sacred rule: Don’t replay any turns! If you make a mistake, accept it and try to recover. To ensure fair play and prevent results exclusions, please set your Autosaves to 1 turn. In the event of a computer crash while playing, just reload to the previous save and play it as closely to how you played it the first time. Please let Leif, Hammer Rabbi or me know (either in the forums or through Private Message) if you experienced a crash and how many turns you replayed.

Information about threads associated with each individual TSG -- Must Read if you are new to our Game of the Month!
Spoiler :
Please note: If you wish to make a video of your game, please do not post any links to it until after the game submission date has passed. This is because of the potential spoilers that are created by posting before the end date. Thank you for your cooperation.
TSG Announcement thread (this one): This thread is used to announce the game and clarify the settings and rules (don’t be afraid to ask questions). It’s also used to discuss the game before you start, and post problems with opening the save. Please don’t post any game-related info once you open and play the save. Instead use the next thread.
Opening Actions thread: This thread is used to discuss the game's opening decisions and strategies through the first 100 or so turns. Here you can post questions related to the game and share your achievements/anger/frustration/victories while you play. We encourage players to use the spoiler tags for screenshot. During the time the game is active, please do not post any information concerning the game outside of the spoiler threads including screen shots, videos, or recorded/live-cast Let's Plays on other websites.
After Actions thread: In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss date (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Some players like to replay the game, and although we will not record the results from a replay, you can still post your new experiences. The game will not be closed as such, but after one month, the results will be compiled, and will not necessarily be updated with reports coming in after the finish date.
Results and Congratulations thread: We will create a separate thread with the results at the end of the one month submission period (sorted by earliest date and highest score ). We will issue a medal to the top winner (based on earliest date finished for each VC). There are no long-term records kept for these results, they are just given out to top finishers to reward their efforts.

File Upload System
We have a game file upload system you can find here. Please use it to upload your completed first attempt by saving the game on the turn after your victory or defeat. (by using the "lemme play one more turn" feature) Please note: you must submit your game on the turn following Victory. If you continue to play, the game overwrites the data and your submission could be rejected by the submission system.
This game runs for a month and ends May 15th, 2016.

The save will be available for download on April 15th, 2016 midnight Central Standard time (UTC -6:00) in the US.
The Save can be found here.

Glad to see a return to standard speed (at least that's what the thread says, I haven't opened the save yet :)).

Petra is almost assuredly a dead dream as I can assume based on the title of the map (Sandstorm) that all AIs will be on desert.

Getting DF would be a massive boost to a CV and this might actually be RNG possible as I don't think there's any particular rhyme or reason to how AIs pick their pantheons. It would help to find a CS or NW but I think it's definitely worth rushing out a shrine here.

Start looks juicy, I might move the warrior east just to verify that the peninsula doesn't extend. It will be tough to move away from SIP with the wheat/oasis right there and being able to turn a naked desert tile into a 2/1 by planting on it, however canal cities make things so much easier when appropriate.

Looks fun! Can't wait to try it out.

That is a sweet looking start. And with SandStorm gotta get DF. Is Sacred Sites viable on Deity? The guides I've seen have been for Emperor. And one mentioned that SS on Deity doesn't really work. I'm not likely to win a Deity game anyway so it would be fun to try.

The guides I read said to go Liberty to Collective Rule and then go Piety to Reformation. But on Deity you probably should go straight for Piety right? You might not get SS if you wait very long I would think.

I'll move the warrior to the hill to the west to see what's there. I'm tempted to move the settler NE and settle there. Then build the second city on the silver or the invisible tile to the west of that since there's three lux visible. But being right next to wheat and oaisis is so nice.

Are there really no barbs and no ancient ruins or is that text just left over from the last game?

Deity CV is pretty much impossible for me except w/ Polynesia. I will SIP, run Piety, and beeline for Petra. Since CV is hopeless, I might as well have some fun!

Will move my warrior east to take a peak, then probably settle in place. At deity, getting a religion is unlikely so the Byzantine UA is useless. (but I will build a shrine first and hope for Desert Folklore) But the UU's might be good. Without a religion, the only hope for a cultural victory is to kill the leaders in the modern era and take their wonders, then beeline Internet. Not sure if I can pull that off at deity, but that's my plan. I have gotten it to work at immortal.

SS is not viable on Deity. First, even if you get DF, you will likely only get 1 choice of faith building by the time you are picking religion, if that. Second, even if you get 2 faith buildings (is it possible to get 3 as Theodora? probably), there's no way you can plant enough cities on Deity to make good tourism off of it. SS relies on an ICS strategy which you won't have room to do on Deity, and even if you did, you'd get DoW'd and crushed because of the "expanding too aggresively" diplo penalty.

I'm no expert on CV although I've won a handful of them on Deity, but AFAIK you are basically playing a science game as you still need to rush key techs to boost your tourism. The difference lies in some side beelines as you go along to get key tourism-boosting techs. Imagine doing a typical rush NC > rush unis > rush schools > rush labs game, except along the way you are probably going for guilds a little faster to get great works out, taking a detour to Archaelogy to get as many archaeologists out ASAP to dig/steal artifacts, getting Regrigeration (I think?) out for hotels, getting Broadcast Towers (if you have the freedom policy that lets them increase tourism by 34%), Airports, and ultimately the Internet. There are probably a few other techs/buildings in there I glossed over but you get the idea, and you can look at the tech tree and see where the appropriate places to sidetrack for tourism are.

Get a trade route, and pay 2gpt for open borders, with the big culture AIs to get the boosts on tourism. You don't have much control over shared religion/ideology so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Where DF and strong religion really come into play is being able to buy GMs late game to tourism bomb that last 1 or 2 civs you need to get influence over.
