Alright, time to try the GotM for the first time. I just beat (only by an inch) my first Deity game, so this should be fun.

Did you click on "The game save can be found here" link? That is the game save that you save to your Civ5 save folder.

If this doesn't help, please post asking for more specific instructions.

yes, when I click the save is here link, it downloads a file called download.php

Just checked it again and I get the proper file which is TSG62_Start.Civ5Save

What operating system/browser are you using?

win 7, IE 10

Have win7 with firefox and chrome, both of those worked. Perhaps try one of those browsers?

edit - just tried it in explorer10 and it worked for me?

The download won't automatically go to your Civ5 > Single > Saves file. You will have to move it from your Download file to there.

I doubt I'm ready for Deity, but I'm giving this one a shot. Havn't been to these forums in ages since I havn't played in a year, but with latest Steam sale and upcoming expansion, I'm back into it

Welcome back to CFC and GotM and good luck to you! Enjoy this one while you can because the new expansion is going to incur a 're-learning phase' for significant portions of the game. There are still a couple GnK gotms left to re-familiarize yourself .... and then undo it all for BNW .

you can always load the save and see if you can play it but the only extra content it requires is Gods and Kings expansion. there are no other DLCs required to play this.
