Still don't think that makes it worth opening Honor for a designed victory of Science. You'll get enough extra culture out of it to make up for the opener, but will you get enough extra to make it worthwhile in the end? Raging barbs tends to really hamper the AI. They lose settlers, etc. which will result in less valuable RA, prevent them from making tile improvements, which will reduce their cash/luxes for trade, caravans will get eaten.
For Domination, sure, but for Science?
very often barb camps are close t city states - by constantly killing new barbs spawned for influence u can aly the CS without ever doing a quest for it or ever paying gold - pretty easily
1 archer for 1 CS = good tradeoff imo ..
Also raging barbs can be rly anyoing without opener ..
So its imo either clear all camps asap and neglect or opener or
keep some barb camps on purpose for culture and CS influence and take mil opener
Also its not like in end u often rly miss 500 culture for a key sp -I usually get 1 sp more as really "needed" - espacially with worlds fair (immortal perfect for it ..) so I d rather have a snowball ..
