Except the Aztecs are described as being the Aztec Civilisation Pack

I agree that it's just a marketing ploy though.

Actually, I have just checked, and they are described as an early access civ (for the base game with no need to buy or spend money for any additional DLCs). That is why, I claim it to be part of the base game.

Deluxe edition DLC - Female leader pack, Isabella and Gorgo
Deluxe edition DLC - Poland, possibly with something extra
Deluxe edition DLC x2 - Unknown, but will contain a scenario or map pack

18 civs 18 leaders at release, Aztecs is DLC.

This is what I think it is, though I can't explain the lack of Isabella in the civlopedia leak. :)

Well, it is a free DLC that is included in the price of the base game. That is why, I claim it to be part of the base game. And remember that if you pre-order the game, you will receive it in the base game on launch day, too. If not, you don't have to buy any DLC to get it after 90 days. So Aztecs is a special kind of case. Obviously, for marketing reasons.

Isabella is clearly a part of a DLC.

The civilopeida leak only contained the leaders from the base game. This explains why Isabella was not included... or Jadwiga, for instance...

But Gorgo was also there, and she will also likely not be in the base game, so the leak isn't neccasserily all vanilla.

Gorgo is almost certainly part of the base game. It would make far more sense to bundle Isabella and Jadwiga.

Gorgo is the second leader for Greece. At least according to the Civilopedia that claims multiple leaders in the base game. So as I said, 19 leaders and 18 civs for everyone without pre-ordering or deluxe edition.

And I believe this was supposed to be a surprise, but the leak basically broke it.

I'm just guessing the cost of 2 leaders = 1 civ as DLC. Makes less sense to bundle a new leader with a new civ in a DLC pack imo. In civ 5 we had double civ packs but the civs were less unique. I'm thinking we'll get 1 new civ or 2 new leaders for existing civs as DLC this time around.

Oh, really. Granted, Spain was horrible, but the Inca were a pretty fantastic civilization. I wouldn't be surprised we see leader+civ packs, plus Isabella and Jadwiga fit well together thematically, whereas Isabella and Gorgo do not. Plus, if Isabella and Gorgo were from the same DLC, it would be difficult to explain why Gorgo was on the list and Isabella was not.

I still think the DLCs will be more substantial than this, given that a Civ V civ DLC was $5, and the Deluxe edition is $20 and is supposed to be a discount, so I think we'll see some DLCs that are actually a bit more substantial, like double civ packs or something.

What i meant, Civ 6 civs are more unique compared to civ 5.

I could easily see Firaxis do the following: reveal Arabia, Russia, Rome and Sumer (in whatever order / crazy pattern they follow) and then right before launch show off Gorgo and Isabella as secondary leaders of Greece and Spain to build additional hype (or just one of them). Poland / Jadwiga could easily be a part of the first DLC we will see for the game similar to how Babylon / Nebuchadnezzar was for Civilization V. And no, I do not count Aztecs / Montezuma as a DLC as they are technically in the code for the vanilla game and open for people who pre-ordered on Day 1. Then they get unlocked / opened up at Day 90 for everyone who didn't pre-order.

There are currently 4 sets announced. Per one set, I expect:

- One new leader for an existing civilization.
- One new civilization.
- One new scenario.
- One new map.

And this is how they more or less describe the Deluxe Ed. It's just they have not stated how many leaders, civs, maps and scenarios we get per set.

Or, maybe she is DLC. 'Pericles leads Greece' is what they said, not 'Pericles is one of the leaders of Greece'. Why would Greece be the only Civ to get my little leaders in vannila?

Maybe Gorgo comes as part is of the deluxe edition of the game, and Jadwiga and Isabella will be separate early DLC? That could explain why Poland was not on the leak; that could have been a list of Civs and leaders in the deluxe edition.

Early DLCs and Deluxe Ed. is basically the same thing. I do not understand your reasoning.

that could have been a list of Civs and leaders in the deluxe edition.

No, because if you count, the numbers do not agree. Simple at that.

Gorgo is almost certainly part of the base game.

I think they'd have made reference to her in the Greek reveal video if that was the case. Yeah, they could be trying to surprise people with a late reveal, but that leak has already been spread all over the web, so that would be a really weird decision to make at this point.

And, again, why would one Civ get two leaders at Vannila? I know multiple leaders is confirmed, but that does not neccasserily mean in the Vannila game.

It would make far more sense to bundle Isabella and Jadwiga.

I think that Civs in the same pack would not neccasserily always be thematic.

The deluxe edition will presumably be available earlier than other DLC.

Why not? Deluxe edition could have same 18 Civs (+ Aztecs) as well as Gorgo as an extra leader. The other items in the deluxe edition could be maps, scenarios, etc.

The thing is other DLCs have not been announced. Except the 4 sets in the Deluxe Edition.

Then, it would mean that Civilopedia contains untrue information for people who bought standard edition.

Of course, they can still edit it if they decide to do otherwise or change their mind. But I doubt it.
